Chicken coop cleanliness...
My chicken coop has gotten dirty. I'm not sure how to clean it, but I assume it has something to do with the tiny piles of wheat grain that have been appearing outside their food trough.

How am I expected to pick up that wheat? I'm brand new in this save, I don't have a tractor with a front loader yet, not because I can't afford one but because operating a bucket on a front loader is just about my least favorite thing to do in this game, and I'm trying to do as little as possible.

I hope that's not my only option for picking up that wheat, also hoping others may have a suggestion. Seems a shame I would have to buy an entirely new piece of heavy capital-intensive equipment where a simple broom would suffice.

unfortunately I believe that it what you have to have. I like your idea of a broom. Maybe a modder will come up with it ! :steamhappy:

You must use a bucket. The time spent on the job is just a few seconds.

I have a tractor that can attach a front loader, so I leased a front loader and bucket and drove to the store to pick them up, but I can't attach the front loader. I drive right up to it but no option to attach it.

I reminded myself that leased vehicles can't be customized after the fact, and front loaders count as a customization. Sure enough, that tractor is leased. I would have had to add the front loader at the time I leased it.

So yeah, I have to get a whole new tractor and an assortment of attachments just to clean up a chicken coop

I use a little skid steer and bucket and leave it at the coop. Park it parallel to feed trough, bucket down and just drive forward every now and again. When bucket is full, put it back in trough.

About $ 3100 lease with bucket.

Use a forage wagon

Put a conveyor belt there turn it on and walk away. you will still have a pile of wheat, but the coop will be clean.

If you going for animals, you might need a loading wagon, where you can pick up grass, straw etc.
You can use this wagon to pick up the mess and put it back into the food tray

All that work is why getting animals early isn't always advisable.

Yeah I leased the smallest tractor I could find that still could mount a front loader and just left it there. In hindsight, I think I might prefer using my loading wagon. So glad leasing is a thing now.

use a conveyor belt to pick it up, and dump it into another conveyor belt leading back to the pen.

Though this is an older post, it sure helped me out! I wasn't sure how to clean the coop. It was getting really dirty, so it said. There was a tiny pile of wheat, which I realized was not a spill after reading this set of comments. I got a front loader with a bucket and tada... fixed. (Sigh of relief). Thanks for posting this. The long term effect is it is still helping! <3

Don't you think using tractor w/ front loader to pick up spilled animal food a bit overkill and overly expensive?.....Just use a broom.... https://www.farming-simulator.com/mod.php?lang=en&country=gb&mod_id=155638&title=fs2019

15 bucks and your problem is solved forever on all your animal pens

For me, money isn't an issue in the long run. I'm established so I even keep one of those straw grinders parked there, too. If you can afford the convenience, it works great. You could just leave the attachment there and use the tractor in other places, then reconnect when it's time.. There are cheaper ones though I think than a tractor but like I said, money hasn't been an issue. I'm playing more for the experience and enjoyment than the time management or financial management. I can't help anyone with those two types of game play but convenience I can. I really like time savers in the game. Horses trained by 10 (2 horses), chickens and horses all tented to and trained by noon. Rest of the day can be spent on fields or trees, or whatever in my game. I enjoy it best that way myself.

And in my case, I do not have any type of mods, except the Holmer DLC, which was free via steam store. I want to experience the base game first for my beginner's gaming experience.

Perhaps the other little vehicle (name?) has a front loader like that? If I learn anything cheaper, I'll try to come back.

I bought a straw thrower thing and tried that before looking up the answer.

lol, very difficult or unobvious to figure out how to keep the chicken area clean.

I find it odd water is not needed for chicken maintenance either; dehydrated chicken meat?

Well, if it has 4 wheels and a motor... Use it.
Edit: Might take some practice, but, hey don't everything.
Not sure, but I thought I saw a shovel mod in modhub. Couldn't say where, exactly.
