This list will not be updated.
What factors are taken into account when I determine if a site is "safe" and "legit"?

No but they curate mods and provide lots of useful resources for new players. I dont see what your problem is. Almost all websites have ads. Use adblock if its such an issue. I dont care

yesmods is awful, trying to get a mod off that site just forwards to to random sites that you have no idea are safe or not. The files you get could be filled with who knows what off these random places. I'd sooner go to FSMods than yesmods.

The fact that you seem to be affiliated with the site, but don't tell people, is also a bit concerning.

In what way do I seem to be affiliated with them? How? I discovered them this week and thought hey this is a great website fpr newcomers. It links directly to the files that the original mod makers used. Its just a middlehand between you and the mod makers, instead of linking to all the makers in this thread.

I'll remove it seems you babies only seem to whine about it rather than see the helpfulness it provides.

Oh and just one more thing. Could you elaborate and give me an example of this
just forwards to to random sites that you have no idea are safe or not

OP, what is your definition of "safe" and "legit" and what is your rationale for determining whether these sites meet that criteria? If you want us to accept your advice wholesale without pushback, these are things that should be described at the outset.

Those are the factors I take into account. I'll add it to the top post, thanks for pointing that out :)

TY, that is helpful

One easy way to tell if a site is legit, search for "stevie". As far as I know, he does not upload any of his mods to any site. The originals are only linked from his download page. Obviously not the only tell but it holds true for the sites listed in the OP (with the exception of some fs15 mods).

Good tip!

Removing them from "legit" links has nothing to do "babies" so you can take that and put it where the sun doesn't shine. It was not a legit' site - as I stated from the getgo - and your insistence that it was included, in fact it was highlighted - absolutely smacked of affiliation.

Now that it's removed, we 're good. For that, thank you.

(Just so you know, I'm a map modder - not FS19 - but a map modder no less. That's WHY I got annoyed when you were claiming other sites were ripping off modders while promoting ad revenue only sites skimming off the back of modders. Fully half of my own work has ended up on ad revenue sites and no monies have ever been sent my way....)

Just wondering, how exactly can one tell whether a site is legit or not?

Follow the criterias I follow for this thread. If its not uploaded by the original maker of the mod, its not legit by my definitions. Usually all it takes is a look at who uploaded the item to know if its original or not.

Pretty much none of the fs22mods farmingsimulator22mods or sites named like that are shady. They simply reupload other peoples content without permission. Therefore making money off the mod makers content with them not getting any slice of the cake. Just giving credit at the bottom of the page is worth nothing.

It's a good mod. Question for you is whether it was "stolen". Should I tell you? Will you tell me off? :steamfacepalm:
