What do you do when waiting for your crops to grow?
I'm not new to FS, but I've always wondered what other people do in the early part of the game where you cant do much but wait for your crops to grow.

I would recommend doing contract work for other farmers since it builds a reputation with them and gives you a discount when you get enough to buy a field that and you get an extra source of income too

Most of what you said is not even a thing. There's no reputation system with the NPC farmers and no discounts on land purchases. Not in the base game at least, maybe there's some mod that does that.

But yes, running contracts to fill the dead time in early game is a good idea just for the extra income. If you're inclined to take advantage of game quirks, then instead of just doing a harvest contract, you can flip that field.

oh right I forgot they got rid of that since if I remember rightly it was a thing in FS17 so got my wires crossed
