This is usually a problem on larger 4x maps or if you're using realistic mods, though. The conventional map size and driving distances tend to be too small/short.
Personally, I still use overloading wagons regularly even on normal maps. I just have the feeling that it's more comfortable that way. I can just park a truck with a large trailer at the edge of the field, regularly off-load the harvesters into it with a loading wagon, and only drive the crops away with the much faster truck when the trailer is full. While I'm gone, the auger wagon can serve as a buffer storage if necessary.
In FS13 I had a mod with a special beet cart, needed to use it because the beet lifter unload conveyor was not tall enough to clear a truck trailer and would push down on it. The cart however was just low enough. Have yet to see one for FS 19.
same idea can apply to harvesting grain. on a tighter map, you will likely want to run the smaller harvesters, which will have clearance issuse trying to load into the larger trailers, and the auger wagons can work as an a middle man.
I n short, Couseplay is very useful when using auger waons trucks and combines.
But its not available yet.
Tribine has been working on a harvester just like your idea, though. So far, the current model is running with a ~35k liter auger wagon integrated into the design at the back.
