Where is the Mud?
I've not played the original maps (they are way to open for my liking) so I'm playing as "Start from Scratch" on a custom map I downloaded - Kleinsternhof - which I'm really liking the look of.

However I did spot a comment on the download page of "No Mud" but downloaded it anyway. I get mud on the tires, but it looks like the rest of the tractor doesn't get muddy but I like it to get muddy as it's all part of the game / look (even though it's cosmetic)

Is there any way of enabling the MUD back into the map - I'm no FS modder so have no idea how they do it.

Map from: https://www.modhoster.com/mods/kleinsternhof

Thanks.

You don't see your vehicles get dirty? They get very dirty in the vanilla game.

Wow I must be so tired. I thought I read all of the comment but I now see that I skipped the entire middle paragraph. I thought he was talking about mud as in mud puddles. Time for me to go to bed.

I would like to get stuck hard in muddy fields after rain

No problem, yes mud on the tractor, windows etc. though it's not rained in my game yet so maybe that might be a factor - I'm basically going on a comment on the mod i downloaded it from.

That would be great to see and then need other tractors to pull it out - spin tyres sort of thing...

Yes, it most definitely would be the mod causing the issue. It's not the rain, you don't need rain to for dirt. There is a setting in the game options for dirt, check that and see what it's set at.

It also takes several hours of driving a vehicle around for it to get truly muddy. Tires lose their mud quick if you drive it on the road after working the fields, but if you keep using a tractor over and over doing field work, the mud will start to stick all over.

Thanks all. Checked the game options - it is ON as normal - my tractor is only about 1.5 hrs old and my harvester is a little younger but been using that now and it's starting to look a little dirty. I'll keep an eye on them both to see if they get worse :)

Hopefully the comment I read is incorrect.

Just so you're aware as well, turning dirt settings to fast will also increase the rate you'll need to repair your vehicles. why these two settings are linked under the same option is questionable, but thats a thing to be aware of.

Ahh thanks for that, wasn't aware. I'll keep it on normal for now.

it depends on A : what your tractor is working on (plowing , mowing etc) as this will change the dirt amount you would recieve , and B : if your driving through grass , roads or dirt and fields. as this will *rub off* the dirt. its not as crazy dirt magnets like in F15 and you will see a diff if you park a clean and fixed tractor next to one that *doesnt seem to be dirty* . I like the wear effect on the plow too as the blade gets a shine from the paint coming off.
