The loading wagon would have the least number of steps (2). Pick up the straw, then sell it.
Tippers have the most number of steps (4). Pick up the straw, store it in a hay barn, load the tipper and finally selling it.
Bales take three steps. Making the bales. pick them up, then sell them.
I'm only doing wheat, barley and oat on fields close to the selling point to safe myself quite a bit of travel time.
We generally do the same thing on the multiplayer farm I play on. Something else to consider is to get a mod for a placeable that allows you to sell straw, hay, silage, etc. and place that in a convenient location on your map (you will have to own the land you put it on). The sell prices will fluctuate, so you'll want to keep an eye on that if that's important to you. For me, just getting some money while avoiding the long haul to The Barn is worth more than any extra money I might get.
Pro-tip ... advantage of bales into the BGA is that you can overstack the ingester and have to visit it fewer times per day.
BGAs usually pay more for straw than the barn, and if your map has a BGA with straw, grass, hay, sileage, woodchip, manure, and slurry, prices - you're onto a winner.
The gamemods direct baler wrapper combi is configurable to 8000, 12000, or 20000 litre bales - you need the 8000 for filling TMR mixer trailers as the others are too big to get the right mix.
One MAN truck plus the Vstr trailer is 68 bales ... that's 1,360,000 litres if using the 20k bales.
