Conveyor belts
Why do the belts stops when you walk away from them to do something else, tex combining? Is this a bug or is it intentional?

I use them for feeding sheeps, and clean up cow/sheep/pig feeding area, but I constantly have to enter the belts to get them pick up anything and wait for them to finish before jumping out again, if not the animation doesnt stop, but the belt stops picking up stuff.

This starts to get very annoying. Or am I just spoiled in FS17 where they did work even if you where on the other side of the map, but in this game they stops working as you walk 10 meters away from them.

Not had any problems with them have empty'd complete bio bunkers without them stopping

I watched a YouTube video of belts running grain all the way across a map and it worked. Are you having to move them even a little bit each time you start them. They will only pick up stuff in their immediate area.

Dont have to move them, just enter them to get them to work

Have you turned on auto engine start in the options? If so any machine turns its engine off as soon as you exit it. You have to disable this option which forces you to manually start and stop engines. But this way they stay on when exiting.

Automatic start is enabled

Come to think of maybe it is because it is a dedicated server I play on, maybe they turn off to save server load!?

Ah ok, I will try it out and see if that works:D (but I dont think the others on my servers would like to have automatic start disabled:P)

Belts do seem different than FS17 somehow. In FS17, you could auto-clean your feeding area without having the belt or engine turned on, for example. I think they are tracking maintenance hours a tad differently now.

I am still able to exit the conveyors and have it move silage in FS19.

Im having the same problem. I have auto start off. I have conveyors that run from the bunker to the drop point at the bio plant. Its not that they run out of silage in the area because I have a mountain of it piled up right in front of them. Sometimes they run fine for awhile, but they eventually get glitchy and constantly stop. I notice that it isnt as bad when I have it set to run on higher game speeds, 60x and above work best. Is there maybe a limit per game time hour on how much can be unloaded at points or something? I had literally the exact same problem in FS17 also. Anyone else run into this problem?

Did some testing.

Conveyor belts is acting just like the vehicles with game setting ”Auto start” set to off.

If you move some distant or are too far away they stop, same goes for vehicles if you leave them running, and you move x amount of distant/time away from them the engine stops.

So you have to be in their vicinity to make them operate automaticly like they did in FS17, even if you traveled to the opposite side of the map, they did their job, but not with FS19, they turn off for some reason if you leave their vicinity for x amount of time or distance.

Thats my conclusion of why I always have to enter them to make them operative again after doing other chores on my farm.

I have had to same issue that luxo has had on a dedicated server. Conveyors just dont want to keep running. On the one hand they work better (dont need to have the base perfectly flat, and can turn pickup off or on) and on ther other hand they are worse (stop working). Even sitting in it, it will sometimes stop till you giggle the pickup.

However I have found that if you use two conveyors side by side. The one updates the other one that updates the first one. So they will run for a longer period of time before stoping.
