Cannot clean horse

Okay so my horses are dirty and when i walk up to them there is no option for brushing or cleaning them in any way!! Im not sure if i am the only one experiencing this or not. please help! is there a hot key for cleaning them??

Just sell the dirty ones and do it immediately so they don't infect the others with their dirty ways.

Are you on PC? I just walk up to the horse and hit LMB once or twice and they're done, you hear a sound effect like an aerosol until it's clean.

All of them actually. I’ve tried multiple mods and none of them are allowing me to clean my horses. But I will list the ones that I tried when I am back to my PC

One way I've found to see if the pen works, is to dismount the horse while in the pen, and if the horse is in a random spot immediately, cleaning should work.

for anyone still wondering. for horses you cannot clean and they are in the pen. you need to edit the items.xml file in your savegame folder. find the horse that you cant clean and change isRidingActive="true" to isRidingActive="false".
