I think it’s a bug. It will likely be fixed in an upcoming patch.

so do my car headlights in real life. and as for not turning off its because the engin running tells the games to use this preset and off this preset.

The issue is if you turn the engine off then try to turn the lights off, you can’t. You have to restart the tractor first. I think they set this up so you could use your tractor lights kind of like flood lights but you need to be able to turn them off without having to start the tractor.

they should have done the same thing as FS17 where you can still toggle them with the engine off as it was actually quite useful as said here

Exactly!! The lights worked fine with FS17. I wonder why Giants just cant copy the code from 17 to 19. For some things in FS19, I swear Giants is trying to reinvent the wheel, so to speak. Things that worked in FS17 dont work in FS19 it seems.

They rebuilt the engine and you can't simply C&P code like you're using a quote on Steam.

For an RL analogy you can't take an oil pump from an 2000 Massey Ferguson and bolt it to a 2017 Fendt. :steamhappy:

People wanted the lights on when the engine was off, seems to work fine for me.

I think the problem is more about having to restart the engine to turn them off.

I'd imagine if the battery went flat it'd be an actual issue. :)
