How do I spread straw for horse stable or pig pen?
I tried the straw spreader on the front end loader to spread a straw bale and it's maddeningly frustrating.

How do I spread a straw bale? Should I use an auger trailer or is there a better tool?

in the animals equipment tab there is a straw spreader you can buy

Yeah that’s what’s maddeningly frustrating. I’m going to just create my own straw and use a loader wagon.
and I'm pretty sure you need to make the straw into bales, then after THAT deposit the bales into the strwa spreader. Kinda stupid how you can't just use the bucket and tip straw in there...

Ahh I know what you mean now, have a friend with the same issue. keep having to mash he unload button to get it to unload. Have not tried it myself yet. But I suspect its going to be a you need to be right in the perfect position for it to work.

To spread straw (not bales) from a loader wagon, do you need a special attachment?

the loader wagon works to tip it into a fill point, but the horses i dont believe have a tip fill point, i believer it might be a different trigger type that does not allow straight tipping like before, in previous games you could just throw a bale into the area and it would dissapear and automatically spread out on the floor, both unrealistic and kinda makes the straw sprayer useless, its nice to see them actually make them worth while now...

We have horses on our server and have had no issues with using either a loading wagon or a normal trailer. The straw tipping point is to the right of the water trough.

TLDR: drop loose straw (not bales) in the appropriate yellow brackets at the horse paddock.

I just confirmed yesterday you tip loose straw for the horse paddock bedding, you do not use straw bales (unless you want to use a shredder).

Notice the horse paddock has four separate yellow-bracketed zones. 1 zone is the loading/unloading area where you park your horse trailer to load & unload. 1 zone is where you put water. 1 zone is where you put oat feed. The last zone is where you drop off the straw.

The first time I drove up to the straw zone with a trailer full of straw bales, I did not get an "Unload Here" popup. I dropped the bales in the zone anyway and nothing happened. SO I had to pick them up again and move them away.

I then reapproached that zone with a loading wagon & straw, and sure enough I got the "Unload Here" option and was good to go.

I like this better than using bales in a shredder, much less handling required

Well I figured out after much trial and error at the pig pen for unloading loose straw from the loader trailer. There are three unloading zones - food, water, and straw. Naturally I tried to dump on the food and water drop zones first - LOL! I'm assuming the last zone is for animal transport.
