Auto Load Trailers
Anyone have the inside scoop on when we could be expecting some auto loaders?

How does such a trailer play the game for you? I mean can it plough your fields, and harvest...maybe seed aswell...I'm amazed.
LOVE THIS

it playes the game for you as learning to operate the machinery properly is part of the game, taking out that part of the game is like saying, i want the income from cows but dont want to feed them because its time consuming and annoying to make TMR.

but that is just my opinion. IF the mechanic was broken, like the deformation system then thats fine, but you can stack square bales very fast when you learn the basic techniques.

I do respect that you wrote it was just your opinion, but in my experience that's only really true for square bails and even then it's not flawless. However, what about all the other things that require loading. Which ironically is what we need the autoloader for, as there's already an autoload trailer for square bails.

The physics in this game is far beyond stable enough to confidently stack anything in quantity. I've been playing this game since 2011 and actually enjoy using the loaders sometimes. I'm very accurate with it too. But I'm not going to kid myself that it's working as intended. Just google Farming Simulator physics on YouTube and grab some popcorn. It'll keep you amused for hours.

When a pallet or bail decides to suddenly start dancing near a stack of bails, or glues itself to the front of a pallet fork only to release itself with significant velocity when trying to remove it (laughably sometimes), or all of a sudden 4 or 5 bails launch themselves in various directions, with no contact being made on my side of the equation, while carefully placing a bail next to them in a trailer, there's clearly a flaw in the system.

The only stable stacking, or paletting, is autoload.

That's not to say manual loading isn't fun, but it comes with considerable risk of glitching out, which is not good when there's a lot of stuff to get done.

Autoloaders are great for large scale logistics when time and accuracy are an issue.

Autoloaders and general mods that enhance/fix/edit core functionality won't be out until the dev releases any SDK or supporting documentation or anything outside the core game money grab. It's funny as in the games folder is a link to the Giants developer network area, but there is no new SDK, there is no lua scripting documentation... nothing. Load up a dedicated server and the link to the mobile app is a 404... They really rushed everything.

ok as you put it actually quite well, i respect your opinion in this regard.

I do experience some of those issues as well, and i know its not realistic, i realllllllly wish they would try to fix the problems with the physics, especially the random, some times sticky some time slippy issues, give the bales some actual "weight".
I also admit that as soon as i can afford one i generally get the arcusin because my farm is big enough to need it, but i can still stack bales almost perfectly in most casses and they stay where they are till the physics messes up.

If it were mearely for bales then you would not need it as you already have that capability (but within realism and base game features), but its all the other stuff too, but again thats just my take on things. If the games feature is so stupid that i sit there and think why the hell did any one add this? then i might by pass it, but then again i am a much more serious gamer who plays a game because its what i want to do, not 80% what i want to do.

its nice to actually have a wll put togeter discussion with some one :) thank you
this is how we learn and discover :)

Thanks! Yes, it can be a bit worrying how conversations go on the forums here. Always nice to have a friendly debate :)

if people have an actual well put arguement with logic, i love to discuss subjects.

If game physics where a bit better. and trying to load a log truck did not resort into a fight between you the forks and the tree. If trying to load bales onto a trailer with a front end loader did not result in bales being draged 3 feet before being let go, and you could position your tractor without it surging forward or back a couple feet. I would be totally against UAL's too.

But because of the way the game is. Soon as I see a UAL log trailer and bale trailer, and pallet trailer, I am going to be yes please.

I personally loved and used the Autoload Trailers in FS17 as they were very deemed a quality of life mod, that saved you many minutes of frustration and annoyance at the manual loading and unloading system in the game. As many have touched on the physics system just does not work well woth forklifts, front loaders, telehandlers and such equipment and you're constantly tormented by stuff that won't pick up, won't put down, flies around uncontrollably, knocks other stuff over etc. If Giants actually improved that in game then I'm sure more people would put the time in and actually do it. Though I suspect after a couple of goes people would still switch to Autoload Trailers to just save time on the boring menial tasks of moving and transporting stuff so they can get back to doing the more fun farming stuff like seeding and harvesting etc. It's not really different from people who use re-filling silos and fuel tanks to save the need to have to go to the store to buy pallets or stuff or refuel their equipment and can instead just drive up and do it directly on their farms.

Another reason why I don't like manual loading and unloading in the game is having driven and operated a real forklift the real world offers something that Giants can't until they implement VR support and that's realtime depth perception, From inside a vehicle you have no clue where you are distance wise from an object or where your forks/spikes are. You are then forced to use the 3rd Person view which is then zoomed out so far it makes positioning yourself to really accurately place and line stuff up difficult. I also don't like the fact the in game forklifts or loaders don't have a side shifter fuction to allow you to make small adjustments to a pallet or bales position when loading it onto something.

The lack of depth perception is my major bugbear with loading/unloading in FS. Constantly having to switch from realistic internal views to quite unrealistic panned/zoomed out external ones in order to get that depth perception is annoying. And when you've got 50+ bales to collect and load up - damn right I'll use autoload trailers when they come. Also, they tend to unload in much more stable long low stacks as opposed to unstable tall stacks which the Giants models do.

Good point about the yaw adjuster on forklifts too.

the only reason i dont do a no 3rd person play through is that lack of depth perception, especially for top loading stuff like a trailer/auger under a harvester auger, and the use of some form of front loader.

so far i discovered that when you pickup the bales using the stock baleloader and then try to unload the bales on a flatbed trailer, the bottom bales usually glitch to the ground, and the other ones stay on top nicely, although the straps only go 5bales high. i need somekind of ramp so that my bale loader is standing a bit higher then the flatbed.
