but that is just my opinion. IF the mechanic was broken, like the deformation system then thats fine, but you can stack square bales very fast when you learn the basic techniques.
The physics in this game is far beyond stable enough to confidently stack anything in quantity. I've been playing this game since 2011 and actually enjoy using the loaders sometimes. I'm very accurate with it too. But I'm not going to kid myself that it's working as intended. Just google Farming Simulator physics on YouTube and grab some popcorn. It'll keep you amused for hours.
When a pallet or bail decides to suddenly start dancing near a stack of bails, or glues itself to the front of a pallet fork only to release itself with significant velocity when trying to remove it (laughably sometimes), or all of a sudden 4 or 5 bails launch themselves in various directions, with no contact being made on my side of the equation, while carefully placing a bail next to them in a trailer, there's clearly a flaw in the system.
The only stable stacking, or paletting, is autoload.
That's not to say manual loading isn't fun, but it comes with considerable risk of glitching out, which is not good when there's a lot of stuff to get done.
Autoloaders are great for large scale logistics when time and accuracy are an issue.
ok as you put it actually quite well, i respect your opinion in this regard.
I do experience some of those issues as well, and i know its not realistic, i realllllllly wish they would try to fix the problems with the physics, especially the random, some times sticky some time slippy issues, give the bales some actual "weight".
I also admit that as soon as i can afford one i generally get the arcusin because my farm is big enough to need it, but i can still stack bales almost perfectly in most casses and they stay where they are till the physics messes up.
If it were mearely for bales then you would not need it as you already have that capability (but within realism and base game features), but its all the other stuff too, but again thats just my take on things. If the games feature is so stupid that i sit there and think why the hell did any one add this? then i might by pass it, but then again i am a much more serious gamer who plays a game because its what i want to do, not 80% what i want to do.
its nice to actually have a wll put togeter discussion with some one :) thank you
this is how we learn and discover :)
if people have an actual well put arguement with logic, i love to discuss subjects.
RAWR :)
But because of the way the game is. Soon as I see a UAL log trailer and bale trailer, and pallet trailer, I am going to be yes please.
Another reason why I don't like manual loading and unloading in the game is having driven and operated a real forklift the real world offers something that Giants can't until they implement VR support and that's realtime depth perception, From inside a vehicle you have no clue where you are distance wise from an object or where your forks/spikes are. You are then forced to use the 3rd Person view which is then zoomed out so far it makes positioning yourself to really accurately place and line stuff up difficult. I also don't like the fact the in game forklifts or loaders don't have a side shifter fuction to allow you to make small adjustments to a pallet or bales position when loading it onto something.
The lack of depth perception is my major bugbear with loading/unloading in FS. Constantly having to switch from realistic internal views to quite unrealistic panned/zoomed out external ones in order to get that depth perception is annoying. And when you've got 50+ bales to collect and load up - damn right I'll use autoload trailers when they come. Also, they tend to unload in much more stable long low stacks as opposed to unstable tall stacks which the Giants models do.
Good point about the yaw adjuster on forklifts too.
