Crash upon saving

Every now and then the game will crash upon autosaving, not the autosave that goes every 15 mins, but the autosave it does when you access your tablet by pressing ESC.

Mostly it works and just hangs a few secs while saving, but every 5th time or so, it gets stuck for ages and eventually crashes or I end up terminating the process manually to restart the game.

Sometimes it messes up the save, like it reloads a save thats several hours old and hence, I lose a lot of progression. :-/

check the games log files and see if there is any information as to why it crashes, post them and we might be able to get to the bottom of this.

Try deleting your shader cache file. Then restart FS19.

Are you running any mods? A lot fo mods are quick ports from FS17, some do some strange things.

am i not wrong in thinking that the autosave when you hit escape is the 15 min autosave? it just doesnt trigger till you hit escape ?

because it doesnt escape save when you disable auto save.

if its crashing when saving it could be something as simple as a lack of storage space with which to save, or save permisisons are wrong

The problem were there when I ran the game for the first time (just gort it couple of days ago) and no mods at that time. :-)

The drive it runs from is an SSD dedicated for the purpose, as in im only using it to run games from and there are no permission or free space issues with it. :-/

Im starting to have an idea that it could be an issue with backup running, not that I back up that drive, but its Genie timeline and it has acted up on me in other ways before......hmmm didnt trhink of that earlier, Ill check up on that as well. :-)

good idea.

never used that software as tbh backing up game drives is not worth the effort for me.

i just will reinstall them from fresh if i ever need too.

Agree and I dont back it up either, but ive done some other discoveries just now that my explorer hangs for several minutes when I access it, it started like one or two days ago and seems to be related to the backup, so I suspect this is an issue with that.

Ill investigate it further and update this thread, so until then FS19 will get the benefit of the doubt. :-P

Hey everyone. I'm getting this too. No ported mods, only the stuff from GIANTS. I notice it happens when I change something in settings and go back to my game, it'll get stuck on saving and I have to Alt+F4 to get it to close.

The crash on auto save started after the new course play and I thought I fixed it by uninstalling mods but it's back.
