Pricing of Milk, wool and Cotton
Hi All,
I got the game from the release date and started with a sheep farm of 100 animals, after that cows (100+), and now Sojabeans.
What i noticed is that profits with animals are verry low (les then 10K a day), Cows eat a lot, and also cotton is not worth the effort.
Very pitty as Focus is now pushing to field work as animals are not given any good profit.
Looking for example at wool prices, they are only 20% of what they where at FS17!
What i did now is changing the map xml file to up the wool, milk and cotton prices.
Wondering how you feel about a live stock farm and the thin profits.

I noticed the same issue. I started a game with crops on easy economy and made good money, which I invested in a cow shed and a pigsty, but now my cows and pigs eat up most of my profit. I would really like to double the sale price of time consuming products like pigs, milk, etc.

Did editing xml help? Which file did you change?

Yes i did, you can change price scale from 1 to 2 in the selling point xm files, C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Farming Simulator 19\data\placeables\mapDE this is the location for the german map

I see the original post is from November. Cotton had a very low value at release for some reason, but in a patch it got boosted a bunch, and now should rival sugar beets and potatoes for $ per hectare. (Or acre, for us that use standard measure.)

I don't think the intent of animals was to be a massive money generator. Use the manure in the BG plant and that will give some extra money. (When it rolls over to a new day of course.)

There is a note that changing data files would disable multiplayer. Is this a fake warning or does it mean every player in a shared game must change the same values?

For my opinion, FS19 gives too few reward for time consuming activities. It's way easier to harvest corn with a 12m wide harvester than cutting and loading trees, making money with animal farms or crops like potatoes or sugarcane. The progress on my account is so slow that I it takes ages until I can afford new machinery (for different crops). I wish, the gameplay was much more dynamic (higher prices but also higher risks, costs for car accidents rather than insane daily value loss).

The upcoming Seasons mod probably changes things a bit. You may want to give it a try once it's released on Wednesday.

Cotton is worth the effort, on hard it sells for upwards to around $1500 per 1000. Decent amount of money.
