All my tractors are parked with turned wheels, gives it a realistic feel :)
Try parking a harvester in the shed on full lock with the comb on at shift change. Watch what happens. ;0
Once you get into the habbit of making sure your tyres (or the steering wheel if you're thinking about real driving) is correct before accellerating the new system is much more fun. After learning it i turned it down to 10%.
Cars auto centre - particularly vehicles with power steering (which is most these days). If you're stopped and turned, no (of course) but they auto centre in motion.
(ED: I just reread what you said and maybe you're only talking about stopped vehicles but then turning auto centre down to 10% would not be "like a car" at all when in motion).
I have a strong feeling that anyone who complains with the changes in driving hasn't clicked how to do this yet.. it makes complete sense that was my first reaction being used to fps tractor driving and it was horrible. But after i worked it out its awesome.
Yeah that's why you keep it on 10%. Give it a go. It still feels closer to a racing video game at 30+. You can almost pretend you're driving at 10. I guess at speed kbm breaks down anyway.. the on off response is too sensitive and comes across as twitchy, theres no time based curve so its the best you can do without a wheel.
Definitely. Though at the same time, if i wasn't initially confronted with being unable to go straight in my tractor, i probably would have not learned the new system and i do like it better. I know this because i deleted keyboard steer moments after trying it in 17.
Tough one though, depends on how much you trust your audience. Bet they're not going to do that again.
Pretty simple things to do.
But this is coming from someone who was around and playing games at the time that it got you made fun of and taunted. Way back in the 80's/90's. So take it for what you will.
It is always better to opt-in to complexity, not opt-out of it. (so many companies know this so well.)
Though for some things, better documentation in the help/info area would be usefull.
I love having my wheels stay where I put them when my vehicle is not moving, especially when im making adjustments for pressision backing with a trailer.
