Chicken egg drop

How long will it take for chickens to start laying eggs? Does more roosters and hens increase the time or only increase the number of eggs received?

I have found a bug with this, I have been running a pen for over a day and it was only producing 1 box of eggs and that is it. I had to move the box of eggs for another one to appear nearly right away. Before that i was getting a message saying the bay was obstructed. Still no work around for me as yet.

My chickens havnt even produced one egg and I've had them for 2 days now

Do you have to feed them? I haven't messed the chickens yet, but did they change it so you have to give them something, like the other animals?

Feed but not water

Feed em Wheat or Barley. No water required. As far as the bug goes, I had the same problem till I moved all equipment far away from the egg drop area. After that eggs started appearing. Seems like Giant made the blocked area detection around that a little too big.

You can feed them to increase the efficiency but they do lay eggs even without food

is there any good way to tell what might be in the way of it spawning? i have nothing near the output as far as i can tell, but who knows?

Yes there seams to be a bug there. There is a report about it on the bug report forums. Too a bit before mine started spawning boxes. Once it started I could park equipment near the pen as long as the box area was clear. I wasn't timing my pen so I have no idea how long it took.

so, i finally found my piece of something. you cannot have wood or anything ANYWHERE on the special grass on each side of the pen. its a little difficult to see, but there is a little rectangular area that it creats that is slightly different grass. i had a tiny piece of wood stuck in the ground, hidden in a bush that i had to stump grind

so ive dabbeld a little bit with it,, equipemnt dosent relly need to be far awy just out of reach from the zone but not to close, i didd also move the building up and down, with prob didd something wrong as well , but dont know that until i have gotten new pens up, but then eggs will spawn, only one box will fill up it looks like becose wen next box comes it says full agine, but ye something weard is going on there, but before i can do a clean start on it it will jsut haveto be what it is

New animal, low cost buy in, Simple feed/maintence, highest per liter sell price item. I was going to get into it too. But with it being buged, I might skip it in favor of cows, Although without being able to process the manure in the greenhouse, not as exciting.
