How do you load a straw blower/shredder?
I have bought a straw blower because chicken pen cleanliness is going down, game help says to provide clean bedding for animals with straw blower. Got the kind that attaches to a tractor front loader and have managed to balance a straw bale on top of it but nothing happens, how are you supposed to load straw into a blower/shredder?

It works the way you have it in the first picture with the bail on top. Though I believe this type is only for round bales. Also you will get the option to spread it for animals at the correct marked point around the enclosure same as for topping up water etc.

On the chickens it may take some time for the animal screen to update after cleaning or it may be bugged. I have issues with the eggs saying there is no space for new cartons when its empty.

I don't think chickens take straw. Go and look at the the feed troughs and you will probably see that they have spread food around on the floor, get a bucket attachment on that front loader of yours and try to scoop it up. I think you can just tip it back in the feed trough to get rid of it.

You'll need the straw blower if you want to get into horses and cows.

Oh Bob no! Please tell me the animals don't still make a mess of their food that you have to keep cleaning up?! I only have horses right now and I haven't had that problem with them yet.

I haven't noticed it with horses, I think because you clean then by walking up to them individually. But definitely had messy food with chickens. Not tried other animals yet.

Bummer, but thank you for the confirmation. Well I sure hope the "Animal Table Manners" or the "Lely Juno 150 automatic feed pusher" mods come to FS19 soon. Cleaning up after the animals in FS17 was not what I called fun.

tried scooping up the mess by the feeder with bucket first but that did not raise cleanliness, that is why I am trying the straw.
anyway even if i don't need it for chickens would still like to know how the thing works.

Yeah it takes 10 minutes or so for the cleanliness to update after using a bucket to clean feed area.
Do think they should specificaly explain that is what you need to do, rather than presuming everyone has played previous editions.

Cleaning with a bucket? Maybe I'm blindfolded somehow - but where did you find yourself a bucket?

sorry I meant a bucket attachment for a front loader, telehandler etc. not an actual bucket that you carry around in your hand :)
You can get a front loader attachment for some tractors they don't cost much and then buy various things to fit on it Bale spike for lifting hay bales, Pallet thingies for moving Big bags and pallets and a bucket for moving loose material and cleaning the area next to animal pen feeders to restore cleanliness which affects productivity. There are other attachments for front loaders too they are very cheap and handy, just make sure you buy a tractor that has the option to add a front loader in it's customisation screen.
