You can mow any grass that's there or cut any trees, if there's any empty land at all it can be used for buildings or plowed into a field. Or you can use it for general equipment storage.

All the houses I see are mostly fenced in so can’t really get anything Over it without getting stuck but it’s only $120-150grand so might be worth it

Unless you have a specific purpose for that piece of land, you're probably better off buying something more useful.

Yea I am about to buy a 4th filed so rather do that if it’s not worth it.

I'm not entirely sure, but after I bought each part of land, my daily income went up, so I think rent is paid after buying land that has no farming use. That income went up enough to notice though, and was much higher than the solar panels I have.

You could rent the houses out in multiplayer. the other real players on different farm/company could give you a rent to be able to "sleep" in those houses if they dont want to invest in a farmhouse. You'd have to do some roleplaying for that to work.

That's interesting. Could you please confirm this works in an unmodded game? If it truly works, it'd be a good replacement for the missing solar panels en windmills in the unmodded game.

It doesn't. I just did an experiment then on a new game and bought land that had nothing but houses on it and after 3 days I got no money. Getting rent would be a good idea though. I hope they do something about it.

Just started a new game on Ravenport, bought the town area with the gas station and waited until the next day. Nothing happened.
Tried the same with the factory in town, nothing happened.

Town areas don't earn you money.

Just go into My Games -> FarmingSimulator2019 -> [savegame of your choice] and change the money value in careerSavegame.xml and farms.xml to whatever you want. Save, load game, have as much money as you want...
... and now lose all fun because the progression is gone :P
