I use windows firewall and security essentials plus malwarebytes. I have adblock pro on my browser. I have never had a single issue with viruses or malware after hundreds of downloaded mods (fs17 and fs19) from whatever site I happened to be on. Some downloads get blocked by the security mentioned above. For those I do a google search and try it again on whatever site comes up. Some folks are going to chime in here and say how dangerous that is and that you are crazy to do that. I'll say it again: I have never had a problem whatsoever after hundreds of downloads.

I prefer Nexusmods . com and there are no viruses there. its my first go to for mods. There might be some FM mods but not much, I hope future FM mod creators use it. I have nothing to do with them. The sign up is free, used to give ratings and feedback and perhaps upload your own mods.

malwarebytes is free - google it. Adblock pro is a browser extension - again, free. And, yes, the others are standard windows components.

Yesmods and Modhub. The best antivirus is your mouse.
