Is this game still worth getting?
I'm considering buying this game, but I've read some people claiming that new players would be better waiting for the next installment. So what do you guys think? Is it still worth getting at this point? And is the platinum edition worth it? Thanks.

The game will be free at Epic games in the near future. Do a search here and you will find the dates.

The next installment won't be, at least, until some time in 2021. Whether you buy it or get it during the upcoming free period on Epic, you'll get your money and entertainment value from it between now and the next installment.

Imho yes. We simply don't know anything about the next installment to make any educated guesses about what will be in it.
If you want to get the game now, just roll with it. If the next game is "more of the same", you can probably just skip it. And if it really is a thorough overhaul, you'll have to take a gamble whether it will be better or worse than the current title.
And is the platinum edition worth it? Thanks.
Only if you really want that set of licensed CLAAS vehicles and equipment. They don't actually make any difference in terms of gameplay.

Thanks everyone, so I’ll wait a bit and get it for free. I appreciate all the input :stickmanlaughing:

And as has been pointed out in the separate thread about the issue, it's just clickbait. The only thing that has been announced is that there will be no FS21 in the financial year of 2020/2021, which only runs until March/April 2021. So there might very well be another game after that. Yet people make it out to be the end of the series...

I'm trying to picture being interested in FS19, but ultimately not getting it in order to wait 12-18 months for the next installment to arrive. You could clock in a whole lot of gameplay with 19 between now and then, and despite what naysayers go off about, this version is amazing once you factor in modded equipment and maps. And yes, the Platinum is absolutely worth getting; the Claas group is amazing.
farrrkkkk i just bought it!

Remember that Epic is a competitor to Steam and will be another game loader. Personally, I don't wan't another launcher and happy to stay with Steam. FS19 on a Steam sale is rock bottom in price, and surely by now Giants are realising that this release is quite a flop with so many giving it a big miss. Personally for me, I like the game and have invested over 900 hours so far, mainly because of the in-game editor and my 5 farms on the American map. But the insult that was the premium edition, being just a CLAAS dlc and no map, or game play upgrades that are very much needed has made me rarely play this game anymore.

I wouldn't call setting a new sales record for the franchise a "flop".
FS17 sold a million copies in about a month. FS19 did that in just 10 days...

Personally, I don't understand why people have such a hard-on over a launcher. They take up practically no resources while running in the background. And you can set them so they don't start up at Windows boot. Epic has been giving away a ton of good games and I rather pity you poor, uneducated souls who have passed them up just because you don't understand that a launcher =/= bad for your PC.
I was able to toss my cracked copy of FS 19 and get a legit copy, plus I'm going to get the John Deere DLC next week. I can farm with my friends now. Big win for me. Big oof for you.
