If you want to get the game now, just roll with it. If the next game is "more of the same", you can probably just skip it. And if it really is a thorough overhaul, you'll have to take a gamble whether it will be better or worse than the current title.
Only if you really want that set of licensed CLAAS vehicles and equipment. They don't actually make any difference in terms of gameplay.

FS17 sold a million copies in about a month. FS19 did that in just 10 days...

Personally, I don't understand why people have such a hard-on over a launcher. They take up practically no resources while running in the background. And you can set them so they don't start up at Windows boot. Epic has been giving away a ton of good games and I rather pity you poor, uneducated souls who have passed them up just because you don't understand that a launcher =/= bad for your PC.
I was able to toss my cracked copy of FS 19 and get a legit copy, plus I'm going to get the John Deere DLC next week. I can farm with my friends now. Big win for me. Big oof for you.
