Gaming pc
Hello farmers, I’ve been running fs19 on a normal laptop but it just isn’t strong enough (usually runs @ 30-40 FPS on low graphic settings). I am looking to purchase a gaming pc to play on but I’m trying to stay as economical as possible. I would appreciate any and all feedback as to what I should purchase at a reasonable price but one that’s powerful enough to run the game smoothly with a few mods on higher settings. Thanks

I found this for $200. Is it worth it?

Dell E6420 Gaming Laptop Core i5 CPU 240GB SSD 8GB RAM Windows 10 - G2QJ5Q1

240GB Solid State Hard Drive (SSD). - 8GB DDR3. This computer has a separate graphics card with 512MB of RAM (Nvidia NVS4200). - Microsoft Windows 10 Professional

No. That is an eight year old graphics card that was never meant for gaming anyway. That laptop probably wouldn't run the game at all.

I knew it was too good to be true lol. I’ve talked to you on a separate thread. If you were going to buy a gaming laptop on a tight budget, what specs would you require?
cyber_farmer Jul 22, 2019 @ 10:38am
When I say tight budget, I mean under $500 if possible.

You just won't find a decent laptop for that budget. Does it have to be a laptop? Because if you can use a desktop, I'd buy a used platform, and throw a cheap 1050Ti in it.

I prefer laptop but I guess beggers can’t be choosers. Is there anything else to look for when shopping for desktop? And do they all allow for graphics card upgrades?

Look for at least an i5 processor. At least DDR3 RAM. If it's got that, you'll more or less be able to put any reasonable graphics card in it, because it will have a mainboard that's fairly up to date.

DDR4 would be better. PSU (power supply) wattage isn't a huge deal, since they are cheap. But try to find something with at least 500 watts.

Remember to budget for peripherals - mouse, keyboard, monitor. You can get up and running with a mouse and keyboard combo from Walmart for twenty bucks. Plenty of decent monitors to be had for a hundred.

Perfect! I’ll start there. Thanks a lot for the help

if u can set a budget and give me an idea to start with such as currency so USD or what and do u need a monitor or no?mouse/keyboard or no? etc
cyber_farmer Jul 22, 2019 @ 12:40pm
USD and I have keyboard, mouse, monitor. I wouldn’t mind even building my own if I knew what components would be best. This is strictly for farm sim play.

stop looking for a gaming laptop. They don't exist. If you're going to go budget, you HAVE to get a desktop. Yes, I know, I know, you're a college student and you need to carry your notebook around everywhere you go. I thought the same thing in college and in reality it just wasn't necessary. The desktop is the way to go

here is what i come up with its powerful enough to play alot more then just farm sim or u can play fs and record or stream it at the same time

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/YQJm4q

now i left the case out because that is personal choice but all the other parts are cheap but good and strong enough to probably play fs21 when its here so i think itll be good

also if ur interested in joining a farm group add me on steam we can get stuff going
