This or The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles?

The latter seems to be a much higher quality production but does this one need to be played first? Or is this one actually better than the second? Is that one a sequel?

Well Id imagine you'll want to play every game if you like one, so I wouldnt recommend going back to the older games. I think they really mastered the flow of the different gameplay sections over the course of every game, so you may get bored or disappointed with the older games more easily.

Personally speaking you don't need to play either one before the other. Since "The Great Ace Attorney" takes place decades before the original trilogy. But like Ichmag says, GAT is has the more modern tech of the series is using but I would say if your a fan of series graphics and tech aside you'll enjoy both games.
