Also, I don't think there's a mod for the og gba sprites. The closest you can get to that is to play the ds trilogy.
I kind of agree...I'm always taken aback by the smoother models in these remakes. Thankfully I still have all of them on the DS...probably the only way to play them.
The Original Concept Artwork looks MUCH BETTER
You can't tell me they used the same art, the one they used in game is ♥♥♥♥.

They literally had all the art they needed. I think you're all lying about them using the original 3DS art because I looked at the 3DS footage and they didn't use this garbage either. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Q76ZixQ9f0
Look at all the comparisons! This Modern Port has the worst art out of all of them.

You sound like you've never created any kind of art piece on a PC, otherwise you would know, that scaling down a picture is losing tons of information, that you somehow need to compensate for in the bigger art piece you're actually working on.
A good example for that is the line work. In the trilogy you can see, that they're quite thick, which is intentionally done so in order to allow the scaled down version on the DS to have a clearer seperation between different areas of the same color. That however is way less common in modern anime, which makes it look off to us, as we're not used to see lines this thick.
Another good example is the scene where you see the whole courtroom. The artists knew, that the persons will be shrinked down to like the width of like 10-15 pixels, so there was no need to draw highly detailed art work for the people standing here and there, but they rather concentrated on the most important forms and left the details away. That didn't matter for the DS, since you wouldn't be able to tell the difference anyway due to the loss of information, but since you can see more details on HD or FHD, it again just looks off and way too undetailed.
There are also a few other things, that look off, especially with the poses, but then again it looked better on the shrinked down versions due to the same reasons as above.
That said, the reason why it looks so bad is literally because they used the actual art. It was not made to be used unscaled, however they still used it (probably with some small adjustments), since it's cheaper and faster than redrawing everything.
I mean the concept artwork also looks MUCH BETTER than the DS version. Like you can't tell me that the 4 pixels of phoenix' attorney badge looks as detailed as in the concept art.
