Report a translation problem
I think what makes the new sprites look weird/off is due to the backgrounds in my opinion. The backgrounds and sprites just don't mesh together well, just makes the sprites look out of place.
That's probably just me though. The first time I saw what the Trilogy looks like on PC and consoles, I wasn't a fan of it. I knew something was off, but I couldn't put my finger on it. Sure, it looks the same on 3DS, but the 3DS's screen is smaller, which made the artwork look much better.
