japanese voicee with english text?

so i was wondering before i bought the game... is there a way to have english text with japanese voices?

I have no idea exactly how it would work. But basically what I'm looking for is the Japan-version of the art on the English-version of the game, like you did with the voices. If it's possible. I like the Japanese police references. And the other cultural things. :P

Well, I am not sure whether the information/clues would be affected after changing all arts with Japanese version.
Maybe I can try it and make some custom options for this.
but wait until I get home :P

I don't think any of the evidence/clue art was changed. Well, other than things with actual Japanese text (Cindy Stone's passport). Far as I know it's mostly backgrounds. Either way, yeah! They did a lot of artwork changes. Thanks for giving it a shot (when you get home) c:

Hey I have tried modify something about "BG" sprites to japanese version(I think "BG" means background but not sure).
But I need some test data to test whether it is work or not.
Cuz I have no idea about the exactly different appearance between JP and EN version.
If you can test this MOD or tell me the differnt point(picture better) that will be helpful for me

Can confirm evidence sprites haven't changed (checked passport in 1-1, was still USA as opposed to the Japanese passport). Trying to remember a specific area that has altered art assets not too deep into each of the games. Will update ASAP.

Update: 1-2 began with the slip of paper that falls from Mia. It was Japanese. So I've got high hopes. Next chance to see will be Bluecorp office.

Update 2: It definitely worked. The recorded phone conversation with Mia is in Japanese ahaha This'll be interesting.

That was exactly what i was thinking. ♥♥♥ Audiosamples and Backgrounds with English Text (including the Speechbubbles) and evidence.

It's alwasy sad to see that Japanese and other Asian games get changed quite drastic, and loose often what i like the most in them, in hope for a bigger western audience.

Oh, that's a great idea for a mod, I'll try it too!

Are the Japanese voices the same of the GBA/DS Japanese version? I'm asking because a nice fact about the Trilogy is they didn't have money to pay actual voice actors at the time, so the devs voiced the characters themself. For example Takumi (writer, director, scenario planner) voiced Phoenix Wright and Iwamoto (one of the character designers) voiced Edgeworth.

Edit: Well apparently after the patch it doesn't work anymore. Dukes.
