The rerelease of the trilogy is not based on the horrible iOS version which is why there isn't a Mac version already.

iOS and OSX are completely different and run on entirely different system architecture, and porting from iOS to OSX isn't as simple as recompiling the source. It would be easier to just port the PC version over, especially since the PC version was programmed in Unity which is cross-platform.

Its just not worth it for them to go back and port it, they may see like what, 50 new sales?

There's literally no effort involved in porting it though. They programmed the PC port in Unity, and didn't use any PC-specific APIs. I've done plenty of cross-platform material in Unity, it's literally just a few clicks of the mouse, and they have a Mac port. Even if they only sold 50 copies after porting, that's $1050 after figuring Valve's 30% commission, which is well worth the 2 seconds it takes an individual to click "build settings > target platform > OSX > build"

I should also add its a jp studio, whens the last time youve seen a non windows port come out of japan? Not saying macs dont deserve it, but thats just how it is with games like this.

True, the JPN games don't often get Mac ports. The few I can think of are the Disgaea games, and the Mac ports weren't handled well. I just find it weird that they don't want to take a few minutes to do an OSX and Linux build which can add some additional sells, when they're already using Unity.
