The first 12 episodes of season 1 follow the first game almost to the letter (there are some obvious deviations). I would watch the anime first then play the case but now that I finished the first game it seems the anime can no longer help me.
The games are a much better format for the same story, so you should be able to enjoy them just fine even if you've already seen the anime. The anime (on top of being ugly as hell in Season One) tends to rush like crazy to fit 20-25 hour-long games into a much smaller timespan, so a lot of stuff is skipped or simplified a bunch compared with the original games.
