If you've played a few older Harvest Moon games and/or appreciate some Twin Peaks nods, make this a 80/20 in favor of liking Gleaner Heights.
I didnt play any older farming type of games because I never owned any console apart from Sony but I did watch Harvest Moon, wish I could play them at this point :D
You do you, but I would advise against watching Let's Plays of this game.
Stardew Valley is one of my favorite games of all time, so I'm with you there. Gleaner Heights is great (though I'm only nearing the end of my first year) but it is a very different game. There are a lot of things that Stardew does better, so as the (very honest and humble) dev implies above, simply liking Stardew Valley doesn't guarantee that you'll like this game. But I'd say that if you've watched some old school Harvest Moon videos and you think they look good, and if you're interested in the idea of a similar game with a darker, weirder tone, then you'll probably like Gleaner Heights.
The reason that I think you shouldn't spoil it by watching Let's Plays is that Gleaner Heights does one thing much, much better than Stardew Valley, in the way that it hits you with weird and surprising events. It's a slower game, but it's punctuated with moments of weirdo payoff that Let's Plays might ruin.
