And btw i tried this race today, knowing a month wouldnt be enough to win it, but i almost did win it to my surprise.
For anyone attempting this: Completely use your endurance bar (leave as little energy as possible to not go into exhaustion), wait for it to completely replenish (make sure you know exactly where the bar reaches its maximum) and repeat it the second your horse's endurance hits the maximum.
This way you should win the race no problem, probably even at first try (i almost won but i didnt use this method to perfection)
I got the horse very early on, and had two hearts on my horse going into the race. I read somewhere that your horse's affection also affects how he does in the race.
To win, I ran till my bar ran almost all the way out once, then walked until it filled up 75% of the way, then ran the rest of the way across the finish line.
It seems like when you run for a long time, you reach higher speeds than running for short stints.
Thank you, daniel!
