(spoiler) Horse Race
Hey guys, anyone of you managed to beat the horse race?

Ingame it tells you your horse gets endurance when you ride it, but i wrote it for a whole month and i had no chance in the race...

Am i doing something wrong?
Is there a special way you have to use your stamina? i just use the run button and release when im about to hit the lower end of the stamina bar of my horse...

Well no matter how i tried it i always finish last...

Please help

I am approaching the race, do I need to buy my own horse beforehand or do I get one?

As far as I know you need to buy your own horse

yes you do.

And btw i tried this race today, knowing a month wouldnt be enough to win it, but i almost did win it to my surprise.
For anyone attempting this: Completely use your endurance bar (leave as little energy as possible to not go into exhaustion), wait for it to completely replenish (make sure you know exactly where the bar reaches its maximum) and repeat it the second your horse's endurance hits the maximum.

This way you should win the race no problem, probably even at first try (i almost won but i didnt use this method to perfection)

I won the horse race in my first year, by following the tip from danielzaiser91!

I got the horse very early on, and had two hearts on my horse going into the race. I read somewhere that your horse's affection also affects how he does in the race.

To win, I ran till my bar ran almost all the way out once, then walked until it filled up 75% of the way, then ran the rest of the way across the finish line.

It seems like when you run for a long time, you reach higher speeds than running for short stints.

Thank you, daniel! :steamhappy:

Small tip- If you use a controller to play like I do, mine was always 100% running and used the bar. I changed to my keyboard for the festival so I could keep moving forward without using my bar to let it comeback up. I had my horse for like 15-20 days and won just fine.
