We switched off the overlay because it would be conflicted with the default button on RPG Maker. On RPG Maker, the button F12 is used to bring the game back to the title screens.

I think the overlay problem and achievement problems may be the same issue - no overlay might mean that Steam just doesn't detect what is going on in the game.

I can't open the Steam overlay, but I do see the steam pop-up telling me that I got a achievement. Got two currently.

It seems that when playing in windowed mode achievements do work.

now I have to play the entire part again to get them.................
