NG+ should be reworked
I think some rebalancing should be done for NG+ because as it is today, it's completely unfair and unfun to play. Challenge and difficulty in games is a good thing, but they have to come from fair situations and not some pure randomness crap like the game throws at you.
Enemies jumping at you offscreen, random HP and jerky camera movements are the main issues here. The "boss warp" can also be guaranteed death if you are unlucky enough and should be rethought (I love when a boss pops right beneath me at full speed).

I think you should try to find some way to fix this up because in its current state, the NG+ is just a tedious chore and removes all the fun from the base concept (which I like quite a lot). Assist mode is not the proper answer, I want to finish the NG+ with the base settings but I also want this experience to feel fair.

NG+ difficulty is the same thing isn't it? The map is just backwards and you can't choose the order you fight the bosses.

incorrect. it spawns a ton more enemies all the time. Although I'm fine with how it is, doesnt need to be nerfed.

people love to use the term "unfair" when they can't overcome a challenge. I made it to the 5th crystal on NG+, which means I can beat it if I keep trying.

Nice necro. NG+ is unfair in the sense that you get rekt by things you can't see and can't avoid, there's luck involved in the process of beating it, this has nothing to do with having trouble overcoming a challenge. I've done plenty of challenges far more harder than this game, this has nothing to do with skill.

Yeah only thing that needs to be tweaked is enemies in doorways. everything else is fair game. extra difficulty is fine. that's the point of the game

I'm late to the discussion but I think that NG+ can seem unfair but there are quite a few strategies to overcome these moments.

First is the worst one, off screen enemies, the best strategy (and to some extent is required) is learning the most common enemy spawn locations, especially at the points in between rooms as you can have little to no time to react or even see them, additionally you can (and very much should) shoot off screen to check for enemies but this will use a lot of ammo so keep it to a minimum and maximise your use of the dash to kill enemies, but on your way back you should check all of the off screen doorways as you go through them as you can get infinite ammo form the “base”.

Second is boss’s, in short be as aggressive as possible while maintaining a safe position, so don’t stop shooting the boss when you can and stay on the ground, keeping your dash is a must for some boss’s like the bee and ant, and any time you are in the air you risk an unavoidable death especially if you don’t have your dash (i have lost a good few runs to double jumping over the bee.)

Honestly the game is quite lenient with deaths as you can get your lives back after every boss and when returning the gems, Just these two strategies will make runs a lot more consistent and eventually result in a win.
