Do you mean Demolition Racer? I love that game and it was certainly one of the inspirations for making Crumple Zone.
If i had to take a guess, it might be an hud indicator on each side of the car, something that was on most of them. it turn from green to black indicating whether its heavily damaged or not. And by demolition maker probably the people who make those kind of games. Demolition Racer was great tho.
Therefore I opted for a system similar to Flatout, which, to me, kept the demo derbies more engaging until the very end.
My only 'gripe' is that the cars mostly look alike. It doesn't really matter though. The game is definitely fun. When I've played a bit more I might leave a review.
More like demolition racer. Didnt wanted a too much realistic damage either,
