How to get started?

I have to say I'm a bit disappointed in what I see so far. Today was my first day playing. My session consisted of getting written up because another train crashed into mine on the first run. Then I did a "for fun" drive followed by a career mode drive. Those last two at the end my character got "sucked down" below the train and ended up in Subway Heaven or something, I heard my footsteps but couldn't go anywhere.

There appear to be only about 2-3 lines in the whole game but even then I'm stuck on only one of them.

Worse, I can't find any type of in-game tutorial as in what I'm supposed to do, how to run the trains, it seems like this has a lot of potential but is pre-release quality at best.
