How it compares to the original All Stars Racing?

I love the original All-Star racing and the Transformed for different reasons.
On the original the progression can be done only with the Grand Prix without dealing with all the annoying game modes that Transformed have besides races.
Transformed have really cool mechanics and the stage changing and etc, but have worse power ups and those annoying forced annoying time trials, battles, drift challenges etc etc and that stupid system that you have to place a bet on how you'll perform before starting the race/challenge instead of just playing and grabbing whatever result you got like every other racer, but is still a good game.

I know Sonic Team Racing lacks de transformations and environment changes of Trasformed and have some weird team mechanics which I belive might be boring and unnecessary.
But how the progression and gameplay compares do the original and to transformed?
Did they just used the original as basis and added the annoying challenges, bet system from transformed and added the team mechanics over it making it a compilation of only the worst parts of both previous games?

It's absolutely atrocious. Take the good bits of Transformed out and the bad bits....and you're left with TSR

You know, this game is indeed a bit disappointing due to its lack of content. I see that most of the negative reviews say that "Transformed is better" and while I agree with that, that doesn't mean this game is Bad. In fact, FAR from it. There are many other worser kart racers out there. It's just "a bit inferior" to a brilliant game called Transformed.

It tried to do something different with the normal kart racing formula and I appreciate it for that. Plus you get an amazing OST. And $4 is totally worth it right now.

The graphics are a lot better here, I think i preferred the vehicle handling in all stars but its not bad in this game. It's a good game that could do with more content and for a long time it was never put on any sales. But its on a great sale at the moment and you should get it.

I think once vehicles get upgraded more it will feel faster/swifter. To be honest i haven't gotten around to playing it that much yet, not because i dont like it. But big influx of games lately.

So far I only played a few exhibition races and felt that the presentation is way worse than the original.
I still have to try the story/campaign mode to check how it feels, but judging from my short experience with it so far it felt the worst of the 3 games.

I mean, not that this is a very high bar to pass, but I felt the story mode was better than Sonic Forces. The story itself is pretty run of the mill lame, but the overall character writing quality feels leagues better... sadly.

Sonic Forces is really disapointing in every way! I've played it when it was out on PS Plus and it felt like a chore, it was really bad and annoying.

Yeah, I agree with you. I did find the 3D gameplay (what little there was of it) fun, but there were too many 2D sections (with the poor physics), and while I feel like the story had real potential, the execution was horrible. I also hate that there were all these characters present in the game, but none of them were playable. I mean the character creator was fun, but it could've expanded a little more in the character variety department.

The character creation was cool but the gameplay with the created character was really bad! The Sonic stages were way better when they were on the 3D and boost mechanic, other than that it was really lame and weird.

As someone who absolute played the crap out of transformed (i think their was like 4 stars i didnt get)

My daughter and I are loving this game.

I think transformed is pretty bloody good, but this one is far from bad.

I like the team mechanics in this one. Of the the 3 this one may be the worst but it's fun too
