The rubberbanding should not be as frequent as it is, not when the game's premise provides the tools for the AI to catch up on its own. Rival racers, indeed my own teammates, should not need a random burst of speed because the game says so; they should be following in my slip streams, and using items instead of offering them up to me all the time.
Strangely it's in the multiplayer races where the rubberbanding is crazy. In the single player, I'm not having that much difficulty with AI teammates being behind and it never gets in the way of my Team Adventure stars.
What's this "perfect driving" like? Do you have a video? I've played nearly 20 hours already and only in the first two hours did the AI destroy me once, because I was ♥♥♥♥. Now them being close to me when I win is very rare.
Hmm, I don't get it that rough with the AI at all. If the AI truly is that way, I recommend playing any speed class with cranked up speed and boost. The AI stands absolutely no chance against such a loadout as long as you play well enough and try to cooperate with your team only when it'll fill the bar on the third lap, so they aren't idiots and use it early, leaving them near last place costing you the whole race. :^)
and each team takes a turn to use it to leave me on the last position, me and my team. and if possible they hit me with it cause they are beserking.
Team Ultimate once each lap is possible yes, the AI oftenly uses 2 a race and rarely 3 and though I can manage usually, it's my teammates that cannot. You have to spend the whole race spamming items back and forth, but you can manage to combat it that way. Would recommend using the faster team ultimate meter bonus box for doing such, it helps immensely.
WTF, maybe just get good ? on those grand prix, i'm beating the expert ai easily every single time o_O i even wanted to complain on the forum here ebcause the game is way too easy -.- expert mode in single races and grand prix feels like medium difficulty. its even easier than a class in transformed and s class was muuuuch harder...
strange thing though is on the first race in the story mode (i just started it today) its impossible to get first for me on hard difficulty. the 2 enemies that have green map icons (sry don'T know their names) are trashing me every time. i can't get to them even if i use all boots available (boost strips, lvl 3 drift boosts, lvl 3 stunt boots and boosts from wisps) :(
thats really strange regarding the story mode. but everywhere else expert ai is WAY too easy (and i don't have any car upgrades at all.. i'Ve not purchased any mod packages at all so far though i should do it because i've like 800 credits or something like that lol)
Dude same. First race expert is the only one I have severe issues with. On the Racing Transformed note, S class AI was agonizing as hell with how much they rubber-banded compared to this one, and how they all focus on you with items. Sure, it technically was harder, but I don't like losing because the AI literally decided my win or loss with their ♥♥♥♥.
looks like maybe its a bug and the devs made a balancing mistake here.. :(
It's probably because the track is so basic and simple, the AI's rubber-banding has no way to be dealt with- other maps stunts and drifts can be done much more than the AI can manage. This was my same issue with the classic cup on Racing Transformed- they were all so basic the AI would keep up no matter what you did and it usually came down to whether you could break away from the pack last seconds or be simply lucky.
