i absolutely fell in love with TSR
transformed only had one incredible feature and that were those transformations of the vehicles and tracks. they were incredible and made the game stand out as one of the best kart racers ever, but in terms of actual gameplay it was much more flat than TSR is :( i noticed once i started playing TSR more seriously (after trying out some tracks etc) and once i started playing the team mode online. its mesmerizing how fast things can change and how great features like slingshooting, item transfer and even the ultimate work. love how the ultimate is not random drop anymore but you have to work for it by filling the ultimate bar. that makes it much more fair and balanced !
And real sega fans love transformed because its not just sonic
With steam summer sale coming up soon OP, ure better off with Transformed, its the better game and its super cheap on sale!
Buy this game in future when its abit cheaper, not worth full price as is
/thread because the mechanics differ enough for it to be true.
Most people hating TSR is because they're trying to play it as if it's transformed, or worse; they hate it because it doesn't play like Transformed.
Imagine the tears people would cry if this was a transformed carbon copy: "Why isn't this just an expansion pass/DLC? Lmao I'll wait for discount".
Community is split because they play differently. It boils down to which playstyle you prefer.
Another thing you should take into account is if you have a console at all, with Crash Team Racing coming out in about 4 weeks you'd be best off waiting for that
Though that has no PC announcement at all sadly atm
From what I've heard this game doesn't have as much content as transformed, sounds like you'd have a hard time finding anyone to play online against either but I can't confirm or deny that, this is just what I'm reading from people who have played it on the forums, reviews ect.
how do you know its the better game. mate, you don't own TSR, you've never played it... you are just assuming Transformed is better because it looks more interesting. but infact its not, this one here has miles more depth to its gameplay than transformed had !!
.. like having vehicles transform into boats and planes? durrrr
Yeah I didn't get his comment either lol
Also I'm pretty certain the whole using the right analogue stick when doing jumps to do flips ect. and get boost was Segas idea first then Nintendo used it in MK7 on the DS
The transformations didn't do much for me and I'm in the minority with that, so take my opinion with a pinch of salt. I prefer my kart racers to be more practical and efficient than pretty and fanciful, the most adventurous one I've enjoyed being Diddy Kong Racing. I'm not saying Team Sonic Racing's ugly or nothing to look at, but its tone has been downplayed (thankfully, not at the cost of actual level design - the tracks are a joy to play, something videos failed to convey to me).
I'd recommend Transformed over this, though. At least, at the current price tag. You're getting a lot of bang for your buck with the $19.99 price tag Transformed is priced at, whereas here the game is young and hype is still fresh in the air. ^^
