The difficulty in this game is INSANE!!! (And not in a good way!)
I really enjoy this game and it runs rather well on my modest rig even at 4K. However, I have just come off a 4-hour binge session where I had to do that red/yellow slalom thing... JUST FOR A SILVER MEDAL! I am literally going to have dreams about memorising the turns in that track tonight!

I am not a completionist, but I have been playing cart racers for 10 years now. With such crappy cut scene dialogue you'd think this game is for kids, but a platinum medal in some events seems like an outright excercise in sadomasochism.

It is. Every times I got a platinum in those, I had less than a second left on counter and I'm good at those racing games. You need to drift close to the bar for maximum points. The trick is to just drive straight and drift the second you pass it. Always aim for constant 1.5x combo for results.

Just practice
Daredevil challenges are doable and the platinum medal can be achieved even with some small minor mistake.

If slalom thing is the drift challanges. These are easier then they first appear. Pick a handling character or a speed character like blaze who has a small car frame.

Points are gained by how close you drift towards the pole without hitting it. If you simply hit the red circle you aren't actually getting much done other then stacking the bonus. But that's useless if you're only getting 30 points instead of 150.

Don't forget the stunt where you can, and stacking boosts is a bit harder in this game then in SaASRT.

Edit: Also the things that can be done in online are intense. Check up on some world record time attack runs or watch some pro lobby tournys in this or SaASRT to see what I mean. The challanges are there for a proper reason. This isn't mario kart.

I tried Blaze at first and that didn't work well for me. Too fast and too easy to lose control as you go and I'm not good with slowing down on demand. I did ALL of them with Rouge. Good handling, good speed (without being too much) and most of the time with practice, I had enough time to make it to plantinum with only a bit of time left on counter. I did get all stars so it worked.

Sounds like you have your foot down permanantly. Tap off/on accelerate in order to handle some corners a lot easier. The instant reduction in speed will help you smash corners.

It's also worth noting that although it's easier to get more points with the nose pointed towards the pole, the game doesn't care if your angle is reversed, which can help a lot with some corners.

Also don't forget to drift switch by tapping the drift button and alternating direction. This can be done indefinently and correct timing of this technique can hold your boost and keep your character going straight. Perfect for both going fast and lining up your angle for the next drift. Hope this helps.

I mean, I do release speed in real race when I want to take a curve easier. SART trained me to do that and I win precious seconds for turning hard curves. But for these challenges? Oof. I need to focus on two many things at once to think about playing with varying speed. It was very hard.

But as I said, I found the perfect balance with rouge enough that I did ALL challenges with her.

I mostly played with Vector. He gets one hell of a boost when you have the right parts equipped. Those boosts where the only thing that got me between the posts fast enough so that I could score a consistent 1.5x multiplier. This was all just for a silver medal and I have watched a ton of YouTube videos on these kinds of races. I am now taking a small break with Sonic All-Stars Racing Transformed where the Gold medal is a little more accessible for me lol. But that game has some sadistic moves of its own I must say. Maybe I should just go cower in shame for a while in Mario Kart... sob....

I thought these were hard until I realized you do not constantly need to drift. The only time you need to drift is right as you pass the pole. So you can like up your points easily, then drift at the last moment for only a split-second. You will still earn full points.

With practice. I tried it a few times until I get it right. I never said it was EASY. Some people might but not me because I find it hard but yeah as said above, drift at the last second, it will work well.

Slicking close past the poles certainly helps quite a bit so thanks for that, but I am honestly struggling to get my speed up on the straights, and this is with Blaze and all the speed components equipped. I have seen quite a few interesting pointers here, and I will try to implement them all. I really love this game, but it sucks when one particular course constantly keeps kicking your ass.

This Daredevil challenge is one of my least favourite events in Team Adventure mode, and for good reason. It took me more than several attempts to get a Platinum on one of these challenges only. They are extremely hard, but certainly not impossible.

I agree with most of the points stated by others above :
1. Pick a character with good speed and a fair amount of handling.
2. Always go for the red circles/gates if possible for additional point multiplier.
3. Stay as close as you can to the pole while still drifting (no additional point if going through the circle/gate without drifting).
4. Do switch-drifting repeatedly to maintain a straight line better.
5. Stack as much drift boost as you can in-between the poles, particularly if the gap is long.
6. Keep practising!

If some of you folks dont mind letting on, how many hours y'all have in this game? I am only at 16.
