Cryostasis

Cryostasis

Walkthroughs are all wrong about the endgame. (SPOILERS)
Just finished the game, then checked out the 2 walkthroughs online to see if I missed anything. Both are wrong about the endgame:

All three of the "finger choices" at the end can in fact lead to the "good" ending:

For the one on the left, inside the flashback, instead of giving the captain the letter from command (which leads to the ship crashing eventually), you can turn around, leave the room and then go down below decks, pick up a hammer and help the crew fix the ship, which results in the ship surviving.

For the middle finger, instead of helping the first mate try and steer the ship away from the iceberg, you can actually turn to the captain and talk to him/help him up, which results in the the ship coming clear of the ice and avoiding the events that happened in the first timeline.

The one on the right, as is mentioned in other walkthroughs, has the timeline "fix" of grabbing the boat from the shelf and giving it to the captain instead of calling him a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ (which leads to him becoming unstable and crashing the ship).

The plot is a bit murky, but I think basically the idea is that the main character dies when his sled crashes through the ice and nobody is there to save him. In death he has the power to try and save some of the dead soldiers as he progresses through the boat, but after defeating Chronos (defeating the flow of time, as it were), the character gains the opportunity to fix one of the 3 key moments in the downfall of the ship. All of them can be "fixed" or altered by the methods described above, which result in the crew surviving and thus able to save the main character from falling into the ice. The final scene is, of course, the boat sailing away. I think that the boat sailing away is meant to be reality, but they do kind of leave it open to interpretation.
