yes deactivate physx, it was the first game to use it and it seems that it's physx are quite unoptimized.

Huh, the first game to use it?

Op, my I5 3570k 4.3, 8 gigs ram, and GTX 760 can run this game maxed-out with an occasional stutter when loading ai events/scripts. If your overall performance is good, don't sweat the occasional stutter.

If there is more than the occasional stutter, then try and install the legacy Physx drivers from the nVidia website.

I also have a GTX 650 in my PCI-E 3.0 slot 2 dedicated to physx, so this may be my saving grace enabling me to max this game out with little effort.

Edit:

And op in case you were not aware of this, Cryostasis was unplayable for most folks at launch, and to date, is one of the most taxing games that I have ever played.
No the code for cryostasis is cruddy, and it looks like bioshock so yeah ok... just because the game takes a beast machine to at least work doesnt mean its worthy of that title

I played the game and gave up on it the first time cause I thought there was game studder or lag but after reading about game and seeing vids on youtube of gameplay, i tried again and LOVED IT. It's supposed to be slow. While the game is a bit taxing on slow systems because of the snow blowing, a Q6600 woudl be just fine. I played in 13 hours. I played on hard. It is hard.........quite hard. Startling, scary, freaky and ominous. The guy you play is practically frozen to death and he moves slow. It's intened and required a genuine effort for an hour.......that's it..........one hour. Game is worth it! Very engaging and cool.
