Cryostasis

Cryostasis

Sudden PhysX Nvidia Something Issue
I have the game on CD since it is no longer available on Steam. I installed it and it ran just fine. A day later, it suddenly says I don't have a certain .dll. I download the .dll and when I run it and click "Continue" the game exits and says I must load some sort of PhysX engine or something.

I have the latest Nvidia driver installed and trying to install a past one (one that is recommended when I looked up this problem) it will not install because it is an older one. Why has the problem suddenly occured since it was running fine one day and then the very next day it starts having problems?

Some more specifications

Windows 10 64-bit
Intel Core i7-5820K
CPU @ 3.30 GHz
32.0GB RAM
NVIDIA GTX 970

NVidia GeForce Experience
Version 3.10.0.95

The .dll it was suddenly missing was "PhysXLoader.dll". I downloaded it from the internet and placed it in the Cryostasis folder located in the Aspyr folder.

The error that pops up when I hit "Continue" at the ingame start menu is:

Could not initialize PhysX. Please, install PhysX driver.

And anyone who believes I should reinstall it, I cannot UNinstall it because when I try, I get this message:

Runtime Error (at 328:155):
Access violation at address 7551AC50. Read of address 03778000.

So this game is effectively stuck on my computer.

You need to install 'Legacy PhysX driver' from Nvidia website, it is a separate download from a regular PhysX driver.

I did install it. I get the same error. Do I need to start a new game?

EDIT

Wait, no. That did nothing.
