I've only beaten her once after rethinking my defeats to her.

Here is a list of general things you can do to even the odds in your favor:

1) Ensure your Sin Level is at level 1 when you fight her. Try to avoid interacting with anything besides leaving the events alone.
2) Remember to use your character's overworld's abilities before battle (for example - the Defender has the ability to enhance his party's Defense before going into battle).
3) Stock up appropriate amount of battle inventory items (maybe 50+ each):
  • Health Potions (Elixir-level healing and up);
  • Resurrection Stars;
  • Rage-inducing items (Recommend the ones that restore 50% and up);
  • Dispel Scrolls (optional but maybe helpful)
4) Ensure your main Tank is in the center position of the party arrangement. The Frost Queen will be in the center position as well and will mostly target that position.
5) Make sure your party is fully healed before going into battle.

General battle behaviors of the Frost Queen battle (that I recall):
1) She will re-summon her adds, even if only one is lost. I think it only requires 1 or 2 rage on her part.
2) She will launch a strong ice attack on one individual. This attack has the potential to crit. I do not recall if it adds a debuff/damage over time stack.
3) Her adds, as I'm sure you know, have their own ice attack. The attack has the potential to crit.
Additionally, the attack adds a debuff/damage over time stack on the target. I think 3 damage per stack. The stacks can be cleared over time, by using the Dispel Scroll or by using similar character abilities.
4) The Frost Queen and her adds are vulnerable to Fire. As far as I know, only the Sorceress character has this ability.
5) Like other bosses, the Frost Queen is immune to Stuns. Her adds can be stunned.

The party I brought to this fight was:
  • Northerner (top position);
  • Defender (center position);
  • Sorceress (bottom position).

1) They were arranged in the battle position as described above.
2) Each character had been equipped with items that prioritized and balanced their survival stats, rather than damage.
  • Northerner - Cleaver + Red Cloak;
  • Defender - Soldier's Bow + Red Cloak;
  • Sorceress - Mage's Ancient Staff + Ice Ring.
3) Each character's abilities' were chosen based on defense, utility, damage. Generally in that order.
  • Northerner - Northerner's Roar + Northern Strength;
  • Defender - Shield Defense + Shield Attack + Shield Block;
  • Sorceress - Fireball + Ice Shield + Frost Armor + Fiery Explosion.

General strategy I brought to this fight:
1) Sin Level is as low as possible.
2) Defender uses his Defense buff before battle, Northerner stuns enemy party for 2 rounds at the start of battle, I think the Sorceress can do minor damage to enemy party before battle.
3) Northerner will alternate between using items (Health potions, Rage-inducing items, etc) on party or using his Northerner's Roar to buff damage/regeneration output.
4) Defender should take most of the damage, he will alternate between using Shield Defense to mitigate damage and using Shield Attack to stun one add (if possible).
5) Sorceress helps in using items and Ice Shield on party when needed but generally focuses on the offensive with Fiery Explosion.

This is what worked for me, feel free to pick and choose tactics that you feel are better for you.

Wow, thanks.

Yeah i was guessing fire would be good, thanks for confirming that. Sounds like a good setup. I forgot about northerner stun, good idea. With that, i could maybe get some major damage going on her up front with the archer crit combos or maybe another good single target dps. But I think she may be strong to pierce from archer.

do you happen to know what her resists are like to lightning?

Also good to know adds get resummoned.

dispel scrolls probably dont remove stun do they?
do you know if the northerner cleanse ability removes stun?

Glad others are having issues with her cause i was like wow, this is gonna be a tough one lol.

Glad some of the info. offers something useful.

I cannot confirm what her resists to lightning are.
I can tell you that she does takes normal damage from Physical Melee and Holy damage.
She is (of course) resistant to Frost damage.
She is also classified as a Greater Demon (might be useful in the case of the Inquisitor).

Unfortunately, as far as I have tried, Dispel Scrolls do nothing for Stuns. The scrolls are useful for dispelling the stacks of Ice damage.

The Northerner's Chalice of Wine (cleanse), as far as I can experiment, is a self-use only. And he cannot use it while stunned.

She is easily the most difficult fight since all her abilities and stats work so well to protect her while still offering her incredible offensive capability as well as utility (Stuns, Damage over time, Debuffs, etc from either her or her adds).

Hope this helps.

I got her with this team mentioned above but i had to clear the whole map to find her so it took a ton of potions and food without my usual healer :D Only difference i think is i used the ae damage sometimes from the protector. I always cast the last big aoe fire spell from the sorc. Keeping her with lots of rage from food and potions. I dont know if its a bug, but it did not let the sorc do damage prior to the fight but the northerner stun did work.

Also found this vid of a win if anyone is interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tzF4bf8d080

Now if anyone gets her at level 6, let us know how :D

Great job on the victory over the Frost Queen! It did not occur to me to use the AoE damage on the Protector but it would seem that if the situation is right, it would prove to be a more useful ability. Keeping the Sorceress up with her Rage and using the AoE fire attack seemed to be one of the more effective ways to go on the offense. Glad the tactic paid off well.

It is funny you mentioned the Scorch ability. I do recall that ability not being available to use on her as well. I am unsure why.

Thank you for the video. It is odd, I do not recall being able to stun her but I guess I must be wrong. It was an informative and useful playthrough, if a bit quicker than I thought.

There is certainly a few things to think about. However, great job again on the victory!
