Why can't I run this in 1920 x 1080p (native resolution) another bug?
Thanks

Hello! Could you please indicate the characteristics of your operating system so that we try to understand the reason.

Windows 10 laptop, latest build. Native 1920 x 1080p screen 120 hz, i7 9750h 1660ti 16 gb ram 1 tera SSD. It just gives me strange options like it doesn't recognise the screen (only game) like 1550 x 1080p and then the image in the hospital looks squashed, because it is.

Please just try and give us one more patch, this is the only game that i have ever bought in my 39 years on planet earth which I quite literally cannot play because of bugs.

Real shame too because you have created a wonderful world.

Thanks

I understand your pain. We are currently working on a bug fix and a new patch. This is a long process due to the situation in the world and the fact that there are very few people left in the studio.
The permission issue looks strange. Do you have the latest graphics card drivers?

I appreciate that you are still working during this difficult period. Yes I have the latest everything.

MSI GL65 9SC - same issue on Win10. No 1080p but many strange resolutions.
Should try on stationary PC tomorrow, but anyway that's strange.

Same here. I'm running on 1280 x 720 bc it's the closest ratio, but my UI is broken and I can't see the objectives or text on top right.

Don't play in fullscreen but in windowed borderless, it comes from Unreal Engine, some other games have this issues too ;)

Please give me a fix so I can run the game at 1080p a normal resolution.

I did buy this game but I've never been able to play it. I understand that it is hard working at the moment but please don't make this the only game I can't even play because of bugs. I even left a positive review to support your small team.

Same difference for me. The thing is it doesn't give the option.

You said you've tried Windowed Bordeless mode (called "Fullscreen [In Window]"). Have you tried the "In Window" mode?

I'm wondering about the possibility of your 120 Hz screen confusing this game's engine. I know this idea sounds illogical, but I've noticed other seemingly unrelated settings affect other parts of other games.

Please open your Nvidia Control Panel, then click "Change Resolution", and keep the same resolution BUT change the Refresh Rate to 60 Hz, then click "Apply", then open this game again, and try all three window modes ("Fullscreen", and "Fullscreen [In Window]", and "In Window").

Does that allow other resolutions to be selectable?

I have another idea.

Go to this directory:
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Insomnia_v2\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor

Open "GameUserSettings.ini" in a notepad program.

Change these lines to these values, like this:
ResolutionSizeX=1920
ResolutionSizeY=1080
LastUserConfirmedResolutionSizeX=1920
LastUserConfirmedResolutionSizeY=1080
LastUserConfirmedDesiredScreenWidth=1920
LastUserConfirmedDesiredScreenHeight=1080
FullscreenMode=0
LastConfirmedFullscreenMode=0
PreferredFullscreenMode=0

Then save the text file, and try to open the game. Does that make the game really use the 1920x1080 resolution? Please try with the Refresh Rate of 60 set in your Nvidia Control Panel, and again with a Refresh Rate of 120.

Neynh, did you try my idea? I mean this:

Go to this directory in File Explorer:
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Insomnia_v2\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor

Open the file called "GameUserSettings.ini" in a notepad program.

Change these lines to these values, like this:
ResolutionSizeX=1920
ResolutionSizeY=1080
LastUserConfirmedResolutionSizeX=1920
LastUserConfirmedResolutionSizeY=1080
LastUserConfirmedDesiredScreenWidth=1920
LastUserConfirmedDesiredScreenHeight=1080
FullscreenMode=0
LastConfirmedFullscreenMode=0
PreferredFullscreenMode=0

For each line above that is already in your file, change it to the value I set for it. For each line that is NOT in the file, add it to your file, right below the other lines.

Then save the text file, and try to open the game. Does that make the game really use the 1920x1080 resolution?

Yes already try this on many games and never work, don't know why I can't play in 1080p fullscreen with certain Unreal Engine games when with others UE games I can, but.. at least I can play in 1080p bordeless ^^' it always choose my "native resolution" so 1366x768, even if I'm not on portable and if my screen is a 1920x1080 :/

But thanks for your help ! ;)

If you go into the game folder there should be an .exe called Insomnia_v2-Win64-Shipping.exe. Run the game using that and it seems to fix the problem.
