What's with the Game's Ending? WTF!
I finally mastered the wierd shooting combat...I wade through hours of confusing and unecesarily convoluted lore...then we get to the final act and the key conversations that will decide the fate of all, have the following speech options: 1) end conversation
2) end conversation
3) end conversation...
so i pick one and you get a black screen with some voiceover narration.
The narrator craps on about the how the "choice" you made has ended the game and you go back to the title screen.

I am so pissed off. I perservered through all the bugs, the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥-crazy lore, the fetch quests that took you back to the same locations over and over, because i thought that, at it's core, it was a different and good game that would all be alright if i saw it through to the end.

Boy was I WRONG! There are so many things about this game that are right, but also so many things that are stupid beyond belief. There are invisible walls!...there are inventory items that have "no icon" written across them...you get companions but cannot give them gear or control how they behave so they WILL shoot someone before you get the chance to talk to them...there are real balance issues with the random encounters...there are dialogues that are still not translated...about half of the game's locations do not get a map, which you often need, because they give you one obscure way out and you will waste tons of time searching for it without a map.

I want someone to explain this. A dev (or a fanboy) to answer any or all of these issues.
I backed this game from kickstarter and i do not want to give this kind of feedback as a negative review, but i will have no choice if i don't get some answers...especially about that ending!

As a fanboi I can tell you that the end game is broken :)

Hi Dunkster, I just finisehd the game as well and I agree 100% with you. So much kind of wasted potential with this game. I liked my playthrough although I had to wait for weeks to have the patch 1.3 released to avoid the gamebreaking bugs.
I loved the art and interesting background of the world, the skill and combat system was basic but enough to do the job. Main issue I had with comabt was the awful AI and the fact that ocmpanions do not do ♥♥♥♥ (don't bother taking them)
But to me (and the dev team being very small is not an excuse) there are some very important hot fix that should have been made as soon as reported: since patch 1.3 same items do not stack anymore when sorted in the inventory. Annoying as hell BUT easy and quick to fix for devs.
Missing icons.
Missing lines for the FREAKING ENDING.

It is frustrating not to be able to see the endings options. But on the other end, maybe due to the clunky translation, bad story telling or me being too dumb, big chunks of the stories are very blurry, and to be honest I understood only half of it.

Anyways, could be a great game with more polish, much better translations, much faster fast travelling (like seriously devs, it is the only way you found to increase game length ?!), and options to avoid rendom encouters through skill checks or so.
I might give it another try in 6 months or so.

Dajana: It's not you...you are not dumb because you find this story confusing...I have been a hard-core sci-fi fan for over 30 years, and i must have read HUNDREDS of complex sci-fi novels, and i am convinced this storyline is a hot mess of gibberish at the end of the day.
If i give the devs the benefit of the doubt, I could say that MAYBE some of the complex story lost something in translation.
But I cannot understand the devs choice to even try to bring this story to market? Is it not enough that the story is set on a wierd spaceship, in the future...but we also have to cram in this wierd, confusing garbage about the "Somnia".
I am convinced it is a great game if they fixed the bugs and TAKE OUT all the ♥♥♥♥ about Somnia....but i guess that would be an entirely different game.
So I guess there is no realistic chance this game will ever be what it had the potential to be....and that is a real shame, because if it weren't for its many flaws, I would have LOVED this game.

Toro: Why would the devs knowingly release a game as finished, when they know the endgame is incomplete?
Dredd Nov 11, 2018 @ 1:09am
Same for me sadly,

Struggled through 30 hours of bugs, waited 3 weeks for a patch, then the endgame is choose 1/ 3 options all of which say "End conversation".

Luckily you can watch all the end game videos from the Game file on your PC

Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Insomnia The Ark\Insomnia_v2\Content\Movies

As many have said there is a really great game in there somewhere, but should have been Early Access, or had another 6 months development.
