Maybe you'd like A Foretold Affair? It comes across as quite silly and lighthearted, but does get emotional and tackles some real issues with relationships and other things.
And perhaps someday we'll be able to make a new game that's got the same type of serious mystery vibe as LoV.
Huh, I completely faild to realize that Foretold Affair was also made by you! That explains a lot, certainly explains why I enjoyed that game so much despite disliking visual novels in general, hah.
Somehow, you guys make visual novels that don't suck, good job
And to the 5ilvara, I can definitely recommend A Foretold Affair. It's nowhere near as dramatic as Lake of Voices, but it tells an intersting story nonetheless, and personally I found the protagonist very likeable (I have a soft spot for guys in hoods
I'm afraid that as long as I remember the non-japanese voice acting and the art (texture, light, anatomy, subtly and hence stronger expressiveness) of _Lake of Voices_, any other visual novel will feel lacking.
Getting the whole package of that, plus gripping three-dimensional xeno characters is rare.
I won't expect too much. I'm just glad I can get my MC to romance another full cast of genuine androgynous characters in Affair. Call me petty, but that's rarer than it looks in vns.
...If someone else is looking for this, bellow are other games that resemble Lake of Voices (yet still fall short in price or completion status) that I'd suggest the followings.
For their pretty but realist Art :
- Queen's Crown by Agashi
- Queen at Arms by Aqualuft Games
- Spirit Parade by Lettuce Waltz (not realist but rich and expressive)
For their realistic universe with xeno characters:
- This, My Soul by Agashi
- Line of Heroes by modesty
- The Merman's Captive by Sugar Star Games
- Amoris Flores by Rugiku
- Floret Bond ... But wait a second. This one is yours, isn't it? My my my. :D
@5ilvara 💫
Aw, thank you guys so much ^v^. I'm really glad you like our other games too. It's very encouraging to hear.
And yes, I've played through the bonus stories and still didn't get enough to satisfy my craving for lore.
Gonna go check out some of these other games now, thanks for the list, OP!
Aaw, I'm really glad you care about the world. You don't get to see too much of it in this game so we weren't sure if anyone would care, haha. I do think it'd be nice to come back to that universe if possible. We'll see about trying to make that happen someday!
And we can always answer questions, if there's something specific about the way it works that you're wondering about.
For instance... Hemer has been separated from Kikka's home village for at least a generation, possibly more. How does this affect their relationship with the other settlements on Kikka's side of Sinnlos? Are they really the only human settlement on their side of Sinnlos? And what of the relations between villages on Kikka's side of Sinnlos? What differences are there in culture or industry? What traditions do they share? What traditions are unique to each? What stories do they tell? Who might their heroes be, apart from Garvyn the Exemplar? Are there some villages in which he might not be considered a hero?
