Alot of the girls (Especially Mio) seem to point out that they all went through a rough break-up, it gives me the impression that our suave Marsh-mellow boi is not our protagonist.

i doubt we are mainly because of this probably taking place in the past, if we were marshmallow, then their would have to be a wardrobe (at some point) of where we can customize our character but not see it from the first point perspective, and one of the characters would have to possibly tell the player about the little pale white man

I think the game is a prequel to Crush Crush and will explain why Marshmallow's life is so dang perfect.

HH is not set in the same world as CC but an alternate universe. There must not be any marshmallow people there.

There is a few lines in the game that make me think we might still be mallow specifically quills lines near the end of the game
