Do you actually need to do the tutorial to understand the game as a newb?
It looks like even a Youtube WALKTHROUGH of the tutorial is well over 2 hours long! That's ridiculous for a tutorial.

Does the tutorial explain stuff like elements?

Two hours tutorial for hundreds hours of gameplay. While avoiding hours of reading/understanding the IRL rules ... Well ...

It's probably going to take double the time for me, since I am failing a lot.

board game got no ai to control the enemy movement etc. it take some time to learn, while in digital version it was easier you only need to think about your move not the enemy movement too.

I did the tutorial, trust me it helped. Even with it, It took me a few tries to beat last mission.
Even after doing the tutorial. I was still unsure of a few things, they really could of made it longer.

You can opt out. I am new to the game and think the information given is invaluable.

The Tutorial, if taken seriously, takes some hours and (as a newbie to Gloomhaven) is crucial before setting a foot into the game. Even after the tutorial you know the basics and the first scenarios will take a while, there is so much strategy involved that your head my explode. ;)

But its worth it.

The only problem i had with the tutorial, it is more of a puzzle and there is rarely two ways to play it to succeed. On the other hand, it forces you to make mistakes and learn from them.

Good Luck!

That was another issue I ran into. It seems like there is only one way to do something - way too strait-jacketed and causes unnecessary time wastage.

This may help: You can restart a Turn (press ESC and choose the option). The RNG is seeded so all dice-rolls and multiplier will be the same. This may shorten that if you find you mistake early enough, so you don't need to restart the whole mission. But yeah, it can be frustrating!

Me: Hey i killed that dude with my knife! Him: Yeah, but i wanted you to jump over him, you failed! ...

After the tutorial you are free to make every mistake/different tactic as u like. ;)
