Why am I starting each scenario in the game with 3 curses?
My friend and I started a new campaign and every scenario we have played (5) have started the scenario with 3 curses. When did this bug start happening?

You should not start every scenario of the campaign with three curses; however, there are some like scenario #2 that have curses added to your attack modifier decks.

I agree that they currently do not do an ideal job of providing all the scenario information which could be beneficial; however, there are .pdf versions of the Gloomhaven scenario book that can be found online should you wish to learn about special scenario features.

Thank you for the response, however I can post a screenshot of the Decaying Crypt, where it states in the goals, that each Mercenary starts with 3 curses. We were similarly cursed when we did the boss of the Black Barrow (can't remember the scenario name). I own the board game and neither of those scenarios start with the players cursed. At the end of each scenario, all curses added to the modifier deck (as well as blesses) are removed from the players modifier decks. My other campaign doesn't have this issue. I will finish this scenario and see if it occurs on future scenarios.

Please refer to the Gloomhaven Scenario book (https://online.flippingbook.com/view/145446/) since both Scenario #2 (Barrow Lair) and Scenario #6 (Decaying Crypt) state in the special rules section for those scenarios that all the character's should add three curses to their attack modifier deck as a scenario effect. Therefore, the digital campaign is adding the curses correctly.

There is a perk that prevents Scenario effects btw. but i do agree, i wish the game did a better job of pointing out special scenario effects.

As a general rule, crypts (or places that are equivalent to crypts) will impose three curses on each character at the outset. Presumably it's the influence of the necromantic power that always seems to be affecting them when you show up.

You can also get a perk on some characters that ignore the negative scenario effects.
