Road and city events are such cases as they can be quite random if you haven't seen them before. For some events you cannot 'unsee' what happened to you and it will influence your decision.
The video game added events but quite some could/should pop up again.
If you play the campaign, yes because it is the same as the boardgame.
So the big story archs won't be a surprise any more.
There are multiple points in the campaign where you must choose one path, so this kinda offers the possibility to see everything if you play the game multiple times.
If you play guildmaster mode, then you will just spoil the classes as they are hidden in boxes and you will kinda know from the symbols who is who. This might influence your choice of life goals to unlock a certain char.
You can also experiment with character builds this way.
I may end up buying Frosthaven in board version though if I enjoy Gloomhaven digital. The gloomhaven board will be less relevant if I played it on PC already.
Gloomhaven Digital is a full electronic game that replicates the board game (so yes, the plot is the same). It has some extra digital things like Guildmaster mode, but the core is a *replacement* for the board game. You don't need the board game to play the digital variant.
The Mansions of Madness app is an electronic component of the board game, though. You can't play MoM (2nd edition) without the digital app, and the digital app is useless without the board game. I'm not sure what you mean when you say "an alternate version" though, unless you're comparing 1st edition MoM w/ 2nd edition. 1st edition didn't have an app (it required a player to play the Keeper), but I think most of the 1st edition scenarios and content are available in 2nd edition: either with a conversion kit (if you own 1e) or as distinct expansions.
