Good for Online Co-Op?
Is this game any good for two players online? I have the boardgame but haven't played a much of this version since it was "unfinished" the last time I looked at it. Now I'm looking for something to play co-op online with a friend.

Would this be worth his money too?

Lots of people complain its still not up to co-op because of Desyncs
Others say it works fine.
Its like almost every game out there (which is why I ignore the complaints largely)..... It is entirely dependent on your machine and how good your internet connection is
If both are fine, then probably no probs (But remember it has to be good for all involved) if its not that good then you will have problems

But IMO that goes for every single game I own and Ive been gaming since Harpoon in about 1989

My wife and I have been playing this online co-op exclusively. A few issues here and there but over all it works great for us.

For me playing over LAN was acceptable with a hick-up once in a while in the past, but since recently it's unplayable. I never had so much trouble with any other game.

Don't buy it if you're looking for pure co-op with friends. Their multiplayer is bugged beyond belief. Desyncing requires full game restarts and rejoining. Happens tons of times in a simple 2-3 hour session.

I have so far not experienced any of the desync issues people have brought up. A friend and I have been enjoying the heck out of this game. I had some previous experience with the board game; now i don't know if i can go back to playing the physical version!

No issues here either really. Do get the de-sync once every 3 or 4 missions but it takes us all of 2 minutes to load back in to where we left off. If that's "bugged beyond belief" I wish all EA was that easy.

About 70 hours of 2 players co-op the last couple of weeks, we've only encountered one desync-like issue twice. One player (not the host) got stuck and was not able to select cards, was solved by that player restarting the game and got a new invite from the host. Was able to re-join in the middle of the mission.

For an EA there seems to be plenty of content at this point (70 hours in) and enjoying the game a lot. (Have not played the board game version.)

If you are going to play GH in multiplayer I would suggest checking the developer bug trackers on trello. It will give you an idea of what to avoid doing that will cause desyncs since the developer has acknowledged as a bug and is either working on it or actively aware of it.

Just tried playing with one other friend for about 2 hours, but we un-synced every mission before we was able to finish it and we kept getting stuck on screens when we tried to long rest and my friend had to keep leaving the game and coming back in. I don't know what happened to the game, but I'm uninstalling until this gets fixed.

Play it co-op mainly with 2 friends. One person never seems to disconnect, the other does so occasionally and then has to rejoin. Doesn't cause too many issues except having to take over their character to complete the turn. They then can reconnect and be reassigned the merc they were playing. Irritating but not game breaking and we enjoy playing the game.

We also sometimes get disconnects when a new area is opened up at the end of a mission. Hopefully this kind of problem will get addressed soon.
