Report a translation problem
Had similar launch issues just after I installed the game a couple of days ago - though you might want to check your Gatekeeper settings (check under System Prefs -> Security & Privacy -> General) the default setting only allows apps downloaded from the Apple Store to run.
In my case I just used Steam to check/verify the game files and the issue went away.
Out of interest - can you launch and run the game from its install folder?
~/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/Gloomhaven/GH_OSX
The app uses Unity which might be an avenue to look down
I get the feeling they spend their time on Discord
