miss modifier
It's retarded how often I draw this game. It's constantly. Something is clearly wrong. The developer's behind this game, clearly doesn't know math

ah, a pathetic, mindless fanboy. I shouldn't miss every 5th attack i do

Not really a fanboy, or mindless. Your antagonistic kind of post just draws that kind of response.

Have you taken into consideration that
a) each character has their own attack modifier deck?
b) decks are reshuffled after a miss/2x?

It's totally possible for a character to draw the miss twice 'in a row' by shuffling it on top.

No, trolls are people who say insults and falsehoods for the sole purpose of riling people up and/or pitting them against each other. They revel in the chaos and they're a cancer to society. I have no pity for them.

Many people could view your post as a troll post. Most people who have played this game for longer than a few hours know that the amount of x0 and x2 you draw are quite fair. If a single character keeps drawing misses regularly, you either have a bunch of curses in your deck, or a streak of bad luck (or both). If multiple characters have curses in their deck, you could be drawing quite a lot of them in short succession. It happens and it sucks. That's all there is to it. You'll get the same kind of thing for x2 draws, as Blessings do exist.
Yet you post a 2 sentence post where you fail to recognise that your obviously limited personal experiences are not universal, and insult the developers math skills. While you could have put in some minor effort to research the subject instead. The search bar is right there.

Or if you really wanted to make a post to vent your frustration, you could have done something as follows:

"Hey guys, I'm enjoying the game but I'm starting to get frustrated. I keep drawing misses and it feels like it's happening constantly. Is this normal? Am I not understanding something correctly? Or is there a problem with the modifiers?"

See the difference? Not that many more words, yet it changes the tone entirely. Instead of inviting anger and nonsense posts, you'd invite rational discussion. It's about remaining respectful, despite your feelings. Something to think about perhaps.

I'm not new to the game. I know these things. The guy i'm playing with, even said i draw it a lot, and that im "cursed". I draw it several times doing a scenario, yet i hardly ever draw my x2. It doesn't matter with which character, or how many perk points i have spent to put extra cards in my deck. I don't think it's uncommen for me to draw it 4 times doing 1 scenario
zoutzakje Dec 17, 2023 @ 1:35pm
The other guy calling you "cursed" is a clear indicator that it's not the norm. Seems to me that you are just unlucky.
Drawing it 4 times in a scenario doesn't sound too extreme to me, though it depends on the character(s) you are playing, the cards you're using, and how many turns it takes. Some characters cycle through their modifier deck a lot faster than others (multi-hit attacks), making you more likely to draw that x0 or x2, after which the modifier deck gets reshuffled. It's just poor luck that you keep drawing that x0. Which is a crappy feeling yeah, especially if it's tied to some big attack on a burn card. You will draw x2's eventually, it's just the nature of probability.

4 misses should be statistically ok.

Even the default deck has a 10% chance for reshuffle on first draw and that is 50:50 to be a miss.
A longer mission, some perks to remove negative attack modifiers from deck, multiple attacks per round, attacking with disadvantage, and even advantage wasting 2 hits lead to burning through you attack modifier deck and more chances to draw a miss.

Without a proper crunch down of your numbers all we got is a feeling and that is little to nothing because of how human psychology works.
'The other field is always greener.' and 'I'm always in the slow line.'...

Are you actually cursed in the game? Some scenarios/monsters add curse card to your attack modification deck which are extra x0 cards. If your buddy has perk to remove the scenario bad effect then you will have more x0 in your deck and will draw them more often. Did you choose perks to remove cards from your deck? If so then you have a higher chance of getting a x0 card.

You can check your attack deck to see what cards are in it. As a side note the curse cards are removed from the deck as they are drawn but do not cause the deck to be reshuffled.

I know how the game works. I have over 150 hours in it. Then there are all the hours i played the board game. As i said, it has been with all my characters, since i startet a new campaign. And i have i'm on my 4th or 5th character

Its why i like chaeacthers that do three seperate attack 2 more than a single attack 6... and also put up hoarding gold for strenthgen enchant over having cost effective +move/jump.

There might be too many (start mission with 3 curse levels though) kinda weird that they front load and 25 levels later it turns into (start mission 3 -1s)

I will back up OP in that I have been going back to this game with a friend lately and we have seen "X-0" happen up to 5 times in a row. It is always a case were things feel "normal" for a mission or two then suddenly we play a mission and the chance to roll a "X-0" sky rockets. We go back to the same mission next day, same characters, and things feel normal again.

It does feel like something happens and causes the game just to hate you. Some type of random generator bug.

Humans are bad at recognising patterns. However, this is easy to check. Have a piece of paper on which you mark (in separate columns) whenever you draw a x2 or x0. I often encourage people to do this, but of course they rarely do, as everyone believes they're right without any real proof. Even so, everyone who has actually bothered has found no discrepency.
